From what highlights ive seen from last nights game, Park is a) a lot betetr than i expected and b)signifanctly better than Marouanne Chamakh!

Maybe he wasnt just brought in as a mascot :cheesy:

I dunno, he seems to hold a lot more in his locker than Chamakh..pelase remember we are comparing him to Chamakh here not a world class striker!

Very early doors so not fair to judge yet. On paper they seem very different players. Park was offside more often than on last and seemed to be falling over for no reason all the time! Still, he forced two good saves from Bogdan and did score a lovely finish (where Arshavin did brilliantly to hold the ball up whilst Park got back onside!). For me I think his easiest chance was his second which drew a cracking save but I think still should have been buried.

I think he will grow to be a useful player once he gets used to the English game and his teammates. Obviously it was a young squad out last night who aren't used to playing together against an almost full strength Bolton side.

He looked good. Made runs, drew defenders out, looks to get in behind and is more a "on the last defender" type of striker, which i personally really like as it creates space.

I've never mistaken Chamakh for a world-class striker!.

Agreed. He was being caught out a lot but he'll wise up pretty quickly once he settles. I'm not as enthused as others seem to be yet but, as Arsene said, I'd rather he slowly earns my faith rather than me expecting miracles from the word go.

Yeah Park certainly looked decent, his hold up play was generally good and he did pull the trigger from long range a couple of times ... I like that.

    Good omens I think.

He was straying offside quite a lot though... kinda like Adebayor used to.

Maybe they don't play the offside rule in the French league :)

Anything's better than Chamack at the moment, I'd throw Park on if we need something different, Ferguson seems to do this kind of thing if he sees potential in a player, Wenger seems to be more cautious

Park and RVP could work well together, park on the last man waiting to get in and take a shot, and RVP dropping back abit pulling the strings and taking some longer shots

different players. chamakh is more of a target man who would hold the ball up for his strike partner, except we play with 1 striker. park is a poacher and likes to run in behind the defence, like walcott would. thats why he was offside so often last night...

Park looks a decent finisher. Thus if you need a goal with 10mins left I'd rather have Park on than Chamakh. Chamakh is the kinda guy I'd bring on when winning to help keep the lead and defend corners / free kicks with his height and aerial ability.

Chamack is the kind of guy I would bring on if I'd taken a bung from the opposition manager.

Whatever his progress this year, man that was a silky goal! I know it was against bolton ( no offence intended) but take nothing away from the quality
