Taarabt keen on PSG switch Published: 24/07/11, 02:29PM Like (0)Tweet thisMore The Adel Taarabt transfer saga to PSG took another twist today after the Moroccan revealed to French paper L'Equipe that it would be a disappointment if he did not complete a move to the Parisian club. The Championship player of the season told the French sports paper, "Would it be a disappointment if I didn't join Paris? Of course because I want to come." The mercurial Moroccan added, "In England I will make more money but Paris, it's the capital of France. If I explode there, it can be extraordinary." But Taarabt revealed that if the move fails he expects another successful season with the newly promoted London side. "For my President [QPR president Flavio Briatore], the case is over. I'm sick of it, it's lasted two months. I want to go to Paris, but if it is not resolved this weekend, it no longer will be. But you know, in London, I am good and a great season in the Premier League awaits me." It had looked like the move had fallen through after PSG Sporting director Leanardo and Sheikck Tanim bin Hamad al-Thani refused to agree on the player's value. The Brazilian was prepared to offer only eight million Euros, well below the QPR estimation, with the billionaire Qatari crown prince wanting to offer a lucrative 11 million plus bonuses. However Taarabt dismissed suggestions that if he does complete a move he will be made unwelcome by Sporting Director, Leonardo. "I spoke with him once, and he asked me if I wanted to come to PSG and I told him I did and that was that. He told me to let him work and he would ensure that I come." The player's revelation comes a day after QPR released a statement claiming "We are keen to build for the future and not sell one of our prized assets. Despite receiving a substantial bid for our Moroccan international, we rebuffed all approaches." A philosophical Taarabt claimed "If it does not happen, it is fate. Paris would have been a beautiful opportunity", before adding that he had his "fingers crossed" that the Paris club would make a successful offer in the next few days. The discussions look set to resume today with the clubs seeking to reach an agreement. Follow ITV Football on Twitter
If they still thought he might go they wouldn't have released a statement saying otherwise, surely? But with this board you never know....
If he wants to go then let him,i for one dont want any player that isnt 100% commited to the club..let him flounder in a ****ty french league. the frogs love bikes more than football for christ sake!
Taarabt has to say nice things to the French press just in case he is sold to PSG. He said nice things to the British press when it looked like he was definitely staying with the Rs. There are so many mind games, snippets of dis-information and examples of brinkmanship going on from all sides. It's stupid. I wouldn't be surprised if neither Briatore, nor Leonardo and Taarabt know exactly what is going on.
