We looked pony at the weekend.

Getting a bit complacent me thinks. Although Wigan came up to play negative football they still looked better than us in possesion.

Its easy to take an "if it aint broke dont fix it approach" but the best managers spot changes in form and make a change before defeats start setting in. Next two games are massive as after that is the Manchesters and Chelski on the belt......

HBA for Best, he has had a few runs now and getting fit, Best has had no impact for the last couple of games now.

Raylor is always looking suspect, swap him for Santon and bring him off the bench if Simpson plays ****e.

Marveux has came off the bench twice and got an assist in the last two games. Drop Obertan and give him a start, switch Jonas to the right.

Blackburn wont be an easy game but i think a little shuffle is needed.

    Agree except...

Keep Marveaux on the left, as both Jonas and Marv can move in off the wings. And drop Simpson for Santon. Raylor has played well in the last few games.

HBA isn't ready yet, you can tell by how often he gives the ball away. Best has been quieter because Ba has got his form back. Give HBA a few more sub appearances, and then consider starting him.

Raylor has imo been better than Simmo - much better offensively, about equal defensively, and got a great free-kick. Play Santon at his favoured position at RB.

Agree about Marv though, Ober has been disappointing. Use him as the impact sub. Another advantage of playing Marv is that him and Jonas can swap sides to confuse defenders.

Also when HBA gets to his best, which will only come with time on the pitch, if we play them three rotating behind a striker, then defenders would struggle big time. I would definitely play a 4-2-3-1 when we play the Manchester teams with HBA, Jonas and Marv behind Best.

To be honest I wouldn't change the defence yet as they haven't really done anything to warrant a change.

Perhaps Marv to start in front of Obertan but that would be my sole change to the starting line up as Obertan can attack with pace in the second half against a tiring defence.

Yeah, defo this. With attacking full backs as well as vicious midfield attack and defence from Tiote and Cabaye, that will be good enough for europe imo.

The problem with Stoke is that their pitch is so narrow and the likes of Marveaux and Obertan could easily become squeezed out. I think Cabaye will be the key player for us.

De Jong doesn't play for Mancini. Yaya and Barry (ha) are the two DM's.

    Disagree with red points...

Every team has bad days, no need for a major shuffle.
Wigan did not play negative football, they didn't shut up shop and they passed it around nicely, tearing our defence apart at times!
Best hasn't been brilliant for a few games, but he hasn't played badly either. Would drop him for this match to give HBA minutes though.
Santon for Simmo, Raylor's impressed me more than Simpson recently especially considering it's not his strongest position. Plus his crossing's pretty accurate, whereas Simpson's is gash.
    Agree Marv needs to start.
Agree it's not gonna be an easy game as Kean will want to win this desperately to shut up the KEAN OUT brigade!

Heard he was alright vs Forest, can anyone confirm this? Hopefully playing along Colo will help him and Pardew will boost his confidence. Would prefer Kadar having said that!

    Would play:

    Krul
    Santon Colo Kadar Ferguson
    Marv Cabaye Abeid Jonas
    HBA Ba

Subs: Elliot, Raylor, Perch, Obertan, Gosling, Best, Sammy

Other possibilities for bench include: Smith (unfortunately), Guthrie, Vuckic, Lovenkrands, Simpson etc.

Wasn't as bad as I thought he would be to be honest. Hit and miss at points, but did 'okay'. One of his better performances for us.

When watching Stoke in the Europa League, during the week, you could see two sets of lines, at the sides and ends of the pitch. They had obviously made the pitch shorter and less wide, for their previous home match, but made it bigger for the match against Tel Aviv.

Against us, I believe that they will make the pitch as small as possible, in order to congest the middle, and restrict room on the wings for Jonas, Obertan, Marveaux etc to operate in. Then play a fairly direct type of football, aiming for their big, strong forwards to upset our defence, in the air.

Of all the games we have played, this season, I believe this will be the biggest test we have faced, so far.

    Stoke:
    Krul
    Santon Taylor Colo Raylor
    Marv Cabaye Tiote Jonas
    HBA Ba

Drop Obertan and Simpson as i think there the weak links....people say raylor is but he has done well lately and going forward his delivery is excellent!!! and we need that with Ba playing...

    Blackburn:

    Krul
    Santon Colo Kadar Ferguson
    Marv Cabaye Abeid Jonas
    HBA Best

There pitch was too narrow for Europa League I seem to remember reading. So every Premier League game they will revert back to the narrow size.

I would play HBA, Santon and Marveaux against Blackburn but would go with this for the Stoke game:

    Krul
    Santon - Saylor - Coloccini - Raylor
    Obertan - Cabaye - Tiote - Jonas
    Best - Ba

Plenty of height and pace on the wings to run at their ****e full backs <ok>

This...Although if Santon has an absolute stormer against Blackburn, I'd be more willing to give him a start!
