Transfers this summer might just be more than we hoped for... like our league positioning

 

This is getting sooo exciting! we need to just keep it going for a nother season transfer wise and the sky is the limit.

 

Exciting indeed, we just need to follow through with it. The Jan Vertonghen's need to be where our standards lie concerning recruitment.

 

I'm sure they are because we don't buy crapm anymore that much is certain. The only concern now if people following our targets and offering more for them.

 

On the same note, we should never be extorted for a transfer fee again.

 

I think clubs know we won't now so it's easier for us. In the past if we came in for a player they added 5-10 million on the price straight away.

 

Which led us to players like Viduka and Owen. Now we're unearthing gems rather than spending huge on also rans and past it players.

 

Was just reading this article and all sounds very promising Vertonghen and Douglas would be great signings though i have a feeling arsenal will get Vertonghen and we will get Pieters.

If we were to sell Krul for £17+ million i wouldn't be to distraught (would anyone else be?) as long as we kept Forster who has won the Scottish League and Cup competitions respectively and played CL football for them as well so he must have something to him...

as much as I started to get aroused.... the fact that it is in the public domain usually means it won't happen....

 

I'd hang fire on Pieters. He's just had a recurrence of the foot injury that sidelined him for 3 months. If true that would either mean we'll get him cheap or won't bother at all.

 

It's good news in a way... I can see us getting him on the cheap.... (like Marv) and then benefitting later in the season.

 

I dunno, Krul is set to be one of the best keepers in the world in my opinion! He's 23/24 name anyone at that age who's on his level? I can't think of more than a handful...

Plus Forster isn't as agile or reliable as Krul imo, I'd rather hang onto him!

 

There's no doubt I'd rather we keep Krul BUT if we were to get £17m for him, we've got a solid replacement in Forster (not an improvement but not a liability) and that money could be used to bring in a couple quality defenders.

That's the worst case scenario and it's still rather pretty, for the greater good!

 

Contract-wise and financially we're in a position to demand way more than any £17m, especially considering Man U paid nearly 20 for De Gea who was really young, hadn't (and still hasn't) played for his country and was completely unproven in the Premier League.

 

If Chelsea`s owner can for out 50mill for a past it Torres then 17mill aint enough for Timmy. Squeeze the Russians nuts till his eyes water and see how much more he is willing to go to. In saying that though I`d be so disappointed to lose Krul, as Pards says he has probably earned us at leat 10 points this season so far with his great reaction saves.

 

Signing Vertonghen would be immense but I'd be happy with just Douglas

 

Plus if we keep Krul then that would work in our favour when it comes to attracting other dutch players (They tend to do well in our league).

 

Im a bit iffy on the prospect of Douglas, probably alot to do with our last Brazilian CB

 

Why would Chelsea sign Krul, they bought Courtois in the summer for 8mill, they dn't need another top young keeper.
