    No firing squad - and back for the Gunners.

    That was the message from Wembley today as a three man FA commission handed Magpies boss Alan Pardew a seven game ban that will see him able to resume his full duties against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in April.

    Pardew's penalty for pushing over an ex-mackem has also risen from a £100K club-imposed fine to £160K, but the fact that he's able to return to pitchside this season will doubtless come as a crushing blow to his critics - who would only have been satisfied to see the Newcastle manager hanging by his plums from the Wembley Arch.

    Alan has stopped using this site. He believes it is not good for his mental health (and may have contributed to his anger issues) after reading what people would like to happen to him. It was JPF praying for him to spend a night with Titus that tipped him over the edge.

    Thing is the apathy's already setting in nicely so I can't imagine many are going to be that bothered, or am I reading it wrong?

    And what's he going to do differently? Cisse started and Shola still made an appearance even without him moping around the touchline. The only positive was at least Armstrong got game time - he wouldn't have seen the grass with Pards in the dugout, Gosling would have got the nod....

    The sooner the legend is back the better. He was sorely missed on Saturday, we'd have won that game if the great one had been in the dugout.
