They should get Phil Brown. Just heard he got Jeremy Kyle in to do some pep talk for Southend but they still lost. Bizarre.

That would be about as popular a choice as Howard Wilkinson was at Sunderland...<laugh>

I know Rafa gets bad press (especially from the blue side of London) but he would be a massive step up from Parpoo and I do actually rate him as a manager! Might even get Torres sat on our bench <diva>

NEWCASTLE have volunteered to be relegated from the Premier League, following their 6-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.

They’ll be able to join in more
As the table stands they would have an excellent chance of avoiding demotion, but the club said it would be for the best if they were to drop down to the second tier to avoid further embarrassment.

They have asked if they can go down straight away, playing their last three fixtures against Championship opponents rather than Premier League teams.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said: “That 6-0 defeat hit us hard. Every last player in our team was crying like a baby in the dressing room and nobody from Liverpool came in to say that they were sorry, even though they must have been able to hear us through the wall.

“If it’s all the same to everyone, we’d prefer to play teams like Doncaster Rovers.”

This is not the first time this season a team has volunteered for relegation – Queens Park Rangers asked to be relegated in September after seven games of the 2012-13 season but were refused permission.

Following the draw with Reading that confirmed their demotion, a smiling Harry Redknapp said: “We had to do it the hard way but we got there in the end.”

rumours sissoko has stormed out of training and this :

Liverpool claimed a 6-0 win at St James' Park - the worst result seen on Tyneside for 88 years, that followed on from their biggest derby defeat in a generation against Sunderland earlier in the month.

Newcastle are still not mathematically safe, as they are now destined for a bottom-five finish just 12 months after finishing in the top five.

Whilst Pardew insists he has no issue with the fans giving him stick, he admits that his future can only be decided by owner Mike Ashley - with some reports claiming that his position is in some doubt.

Asked about his future Alan Pardew said: "Well that's out of my hands.

"Until I'm told otherwise, my job is to lift the team and make it as good as I can."

Asked if he expected Ashley - who gave him an eight-year deal in September last year - to back him, he added: "I hope so, yes.

"That is probably the heaviest defeat I have had as a manager and for me there were a lot of things that I saw which I didn't like.

"I am angry but I have to channel that anger in the right way. I will make sure we put it right. And that started straight after the game in that dressing room. That is the key.

"The players are very much aware of the situation that we are in and I don't think they need a lot of telling.

"We need to make sure when we start on Monday morning that we work really hard to show this city that we have the fight for it.

"I think there are a lot of people who will look at us after tonight, especially on the TV and absorb that game, and think that we have a great chance of being relegated.

"We have to prove them wrong."

Pardew also down played fears that a language barrier could be an issue in the squad, given the amount of French-speaking players in the changing room.

"I don't think the language barrier is so much of a problem as the lack of experience in certain scenarios," said Pardew.

"A lot of those players will never have been beaten 3-0 at home, never mind 6-0. I think that showed; we became ragged, some of our play was naive and disorganised."

I can remember a song we had to sing at school . Sur le pont d'avignon lanue danser lanue danseur. For years I thought the words were 'loony dancer'. Seems fitting now Alan pardew, on tyne bridge, loony dancer, loony dancer.
