    Pardon, Pards?

    Another late piece from NUFC.com

Some tripe from Thursday's Pardew press conference:

"I'm just sad to see anybody lose their job, as Joe has. He did a lot of good work here. But that decision was the board's decision."

That's interesting, given that the official line is that JFK had resigned, while it's open to question what precisely constitutes our "board."

And as for the "lot of good work" done by the Director of F****all, the manager surely cannot mean him getting precisely two loan deals "over the line" - both of which were already in progress before he joined the club.

The only work Kinnear seems to have done at United was to avoid spending money on players, entertain the rest of the nation with his verbal diarrhoea and line his own pockets. Good for someone, but certainly not us...

I think this comes under 'not speaking ill of the dead.' I have no doubt Pardew will be pleased that JFK has gone. We all expected Kinnear to outlast Pardew, but surprisingly Pardew has stood firm and won that little battle. I just see this as him being gracious and not sticking the boot in while JFK is down. I wouldn't be trying to read anything into it.

This is exactly what I hate about pardew get a backbone will you instead of coming out with the party line again I'd like him to come out and give evidence of the good work he done because I for one don't believe it ,unless making a laughing stock of the club or a mockery of his job description is classed as good work ! Keep your gob shut pardew as you just keep putting your foot in it

A little bit of brighter news.

Gouffran and Cisse have a chance of facing Spurs on Wednesday.

Oh, for the love of Christ, what is he supposed to say? "Thank God that stupid, fat cockney fcker has left"???

Get a grip, man. You should try watching politics, then you'd appreciate how honest Pardew actually is.

Ah, yes, the TV camera, that bastion of honesty, the purveyor of truth. Alongside the media the very barometer by which all life's truth should be measured.....

Would you be an angel, though, and dig out the direct quote saying we WILL bring in new players?

Don't call an angel because I am far from it where Pards and Ashley are with my club.
You can go on believing Pardew as for me I'm too long in the tooth to be taking this ****.
I feel sorry for my daughter and her mates who one day hope to see Newcastle win something, me I have resigned myself to fact we are just a selling club with no ambition. I don't think you and myself will see eye to eye over Pardew and I wish he would resign like JK AND GET OUT OF MY CLUB. Rant over

I honestly think Pards is getting a raw deal (not a whitey deal) over this. I can fully understand the frustrations but JFK has gone now so why should he keep fighting that battle? In other industries I have seen plenty of people lose their job, often for being completely incompetent at it, but I have never heard a company come out and slag that person off (in public) after they have gone. It would be unprofessional. Even references are supposed to avoid the negative except in the case of extreme wrongdoing. It's always been the same in football. When managers get sacked, or players get shunted out, the club/management always thanks them for their time at the club, says something positive and then wishes them the best.

It's possible to sack the Director of Football and be glad he's gone and yet be gracious to the man and wish him the best. He's gone now, so Pards sticking the boot in would have served no purpose at all.

Sometimes Pardew can't win with us fans. We want him to grow a backbone and challenge the regime over their lack of spending, but then when he comes out and says we can't afford to sell Cabaye without replacing him, and then that if Cabaye goes he will have to be replaced, we batter him for lying to us about bringing someone in - even though it wasn't his job, it was the job of the DoF who has now been sacked.

Where's Hacky when you need him?........

Bollox. Got to be LDJ up front, surely?? That's what he's been brought in for. At the very least we'd only have to suffer one half of Shola.

Tiote, Gouff, Remy, Cisse out. Are we into the development squad yet? Armstrong - check. I have no idea what formation we're going to play. I suppose Sissoko will be moved to CM with Anita. So we're against 3 AM's and have no DM. Awesome squad management, guys.

My problem with your comments is that although you seem to care from deep within you don't seen interested in really understanding the problem. It's not hard to understand that the media will portray things to suit them - when Kinnear was appointed, for example, pictures and quotes were everywhere, the most disgruntled fans were interviewed to really portray a feeling of disgust. It's easier than you think to just not get swept up in it. Fast forward to Feb 2014, the guy resigns, we get a mention by Alan Shearer. No-one wants to say it's a positive step, no-one writes how good this might be for the club; suddenly we're in turmoil. It doesn't add up, it's sensationalism and - as I say - easy to ignore or rise above if you so choose to.

You don't say what Pardew should be saying, you cannot reasonably expect him to be cutting or scathing about Joe leaving, it's irrational and, frankly, a bit daft to assume he'd say anything bad. I can openly respect problems with Pards management - I thought he was abysmal against Sunderland, in not protecting his players following Cabaye's sale. But I cannot accept constant nit-picking over his press appearances. It's just so utterly inconsequential.

    We're so short on numbers we'll be playing 2 - 3 - 3.

Yes, I know how many that adds up to.

I don't think there's anything you can do about the constant nit picking, it's going to happen regardless.
