What was he thinking? Instead of bringing on arguably our best player in HBA, he brings on Sammy? And then bringing on Smith, who's obviously past it and useless. Why does he make such **** substitutions instead of making sensible ones that might have got us a result?

Pardew is a good manager but his major, major flaw is his substitutions. In fact, I don't think I've ever known a manager to make such poor sub decisions. The timings and choice of players is just always woeful and never suits what we need.

Ben Arfa isnt a winger, and when Smith came on the game was lost. He has to play next week (probably), why not give him a few minutes to show you're confident in him?

Disturbing choices, I agree. Smith and Ferguson were just pointless subs for no particular reason, but the Sammy one was the decider - as much as we all love Sammy there's no denying that HBA has more confidence and ability to get us something from nothing.

He should have brought on Ben Arfa, definitely.

Don't know why everyone is getting so upset over Smith coming on. It was the last few minutes, we were two down and Pardew was just shoring up the midfield. It was pretty irrelevent.

Ben Arfa is a winger and that where he played for all the clubs he's been at . It's Pardew who's decided otherwise. Pardew has lost his mind in my opinion. Shola hit the bar last week big ****ing deal. Best and BA work together. Just like at Stoke.

I said this last week and got slated for it.

His subs are simply not good enough. Waited far too long to make them and when making them made the wrong decision. Should have taken Shola off for Ben Arfa and Obertan off for Sammy BUT EARLIER. 8 minutes is not ****ing enough.

    I'm so angry right now.

Hughton was ****ing terrible as well. Such a frustrating trait. At least if they're ****ing things up on the training ground you don't have to sit there and watch it all fall apart.

I do think that Abeid needs a chance though. He seems quality and i think that he'd be a far better shout than Smith.

I am a bit sick of Sammy though, he's far too raw to be coming on in games like this. Needs a loan.

This! some will crucify anyone for questioning him, however he's showing signs of his ludicrous team selections at West Ham.

Ben Arfa played in a 4-3-3, you cant just put wingers from there into our formation, the full back would be slaughtered.

If Ameobi and Smith play next week I will be angered. It really is worrying the lack of quality we seem to have.

Smith only came on to give him a bit of time on the pitch to keep him happy. The match was already lost.

What does Jonas Contribute aswell? he is meant to be a winger creating, attacking opposition full back he might aswell play Left Back both wingers are **** offer nothing, at 3-2 down we should have gone for it Ben Arfa and Best on but no Alan Pardew substitutions are ****, Dan Gosling is a waste of space did nothing all game he shouldn't be allowed to play for us again, Ben Arfa might aswell have played CM he would have offered alot more going forward.

We've still only lost three games this year, 2 against City and Chelsea and one today when we had no CB's playing. Chill out man!

Who would you have put Ben Arfa on for? HBA would have given Raylor no cover if he came on for Obertan on the wing.

Shola tired in the latter stages of the 2nd half and Best should have come on. But I have to say, Shola was better than he usually is when he starts games. Wouldn't have got the second goal without him.
