He has said that to push for Europe we would need to sign a superstar.

It made me think - if we signed one, who would that be?

Been a few mentioned lately, Maiga, Ridgewell and Papis Cisse for starters.

Not sure if Messi would leave Barca, however, CRonaldo has indicated he would like to return to the Premier League, maybe its him..

Did Pardew actually say that? It doesn't sound like the sort of thing he would say. At least not in public at any rate.

Does this mean we're goping back to the massive wage marquee signings, then? Hope not, quite happy the way we're goin at the mo. Much rather spend 20m on 5 Cabaye-quality players to give us a great squad depth, rather than 20m on a mercenary badge-kisser that's just passing through. Really hope this isn't an indication that Pards is taking his eye off what's got us to where we are. Saying that, if he / Carr have ID someone who is a 'missing link' in their plans but also happens to be a bit of a 'face', then I'll trust them. They've not let us down so far.

I really hope we don't go for any sort of "superstar". Never worked for us in the past, wont work now.

Oh well no, don't even suggest that pile of ****e <laugh>

I think what he means is we need someone with a bit of flair, who can create something from nothing. Which could be Ben Arfa when he gets back to his best.

Ben arfa and cabaye are already superstars imo. Perhaps not in the UK but elsewhere certainly.

Oh and santon. All three are a level above on the European stage.

As long as that doesn't mean we'll have any of the "X-factor" lot doing the half-time entertainment... Quite content with a good ol' beer-swiller sweating after a three yard run-up to a penalty which is almost certainly going the way of him trying to put on his favourite toon top... Not getting anywhere near fitting inside the hole...

The closest Frankiestein will get to a superstar is when I send him in my homemade spaceship to the sun... Like to see him ruin some classics then...

    ****... "Rocketman"... Bugger.

Off topic, how long do you think Ba will stay in toon? As much I love him, I think he'd pull a Tevez if a bigger club came in for him. Though I hope I'm wrong.
