Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has revealed he is interested in signing Blackpool loan star Jason Puncheon.

Puncheon is on loan at Bloomfield Road until the end of the season from Southampton.

The winger has impressed at Blackpool and, as revealed by skysports.com, his performances have alerted a number of other Premier League clubs.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is keen to turn Puncheon's loan move into a permanent deal in the summer.

However, Newcastle could rival Blackpool for Puncheon with Pardew hinting he could be in the running for the player's signature.

"Jason was somebody I scooped from MK Dons for a really good price. He's done extremely well and he's a player I'll keep an eye on," Pardew told The Evening Chronicle.

"Jason's at Blackpool at the moment, and whether there's an opportunity to come here will be determined by what he does at Blackpool."

    "Pardew Wants Puncheon"

I disagree, I think he's done well since he took over.

Who scores goals! We will sign someone from a lower league team like this, Pardew has hinted at this quite regularly and I trust him to get in the right players and Puncheon will give us more competition up front and on the wing, I say get him, but only as a back-up.

I'd hope that this is all bull**** and mirrors and Pardew is just blowing smoke up our arses or I'll have to buy next door a cat.

He couldn't get in the Southampton team ffs! I thought our budget was £35 million not £3.5 million.

We could do alot worse. He's worked with Pardew before, would cost very little and will have low wages so defo worth a shot. <ok>

Anyway, he's done better in the past few months than Fernando "£50,000,000" Torres and he plays in a weaker team. Makes sense when you look at it like that eh?!

  12. Must be somwhere along the lines of £3.50 rather mate.

I've got a good idea. If Pardew wants Puncheon, swap him for Shola!!

Good deal IMO. Puncheon is young and could improve, Shola is old but has a few years left in him, and is class at CCC level, and would probably score 20+ in league 1.

I'd have him aslong as we are still looking to bring in two established, quality strikers aswell, big man and little man.
