I'd take those words with a pinch of salt... or maybe a spoon... or a bag... or a lorry load? ;)

If he gives us 25M- 30M that'd be acceptable in my eyes!

Pardew trying to make it sound like he wasn't undermined and is in control of the team....but we all know how it really works at Newcastle.

We saw it when Keegan tried to make out the Milner sale was his choice, and every time Hughton spoke about finances and players...

Maybe Pardew now is starting to see what his job really is about. Though he might have known all along he was going to be a puppet for the casino boys.

...and I for one will be hugely surprised if even a third of the transfer money gets spent on the squad.

even £25m would be a huge warchest to rebuild, if spent wisely. not meaning to add insult to injury, but i bet hughton would work wonders with funds like that. pardew, who knows

You can guarantee, we will sign one player that will please the fans for around £10m and that will be it. Maybe a couple of loans.

This sounds far more plausible than the text IMO, and the fact remains, if Carroll has said he is happy for the texts to be published (something I don't think his agent would've allowed) then he will be happy to say so in an interview!

The money going back into the club doesn't necessarily mean it will b on transfers.
