Watch it happen! Palace will beat us and it will be the point where it becomes mathmatically impossible for us to survive. Pardew will celebrate, the media will have their field day, Fans across the country will say "stupid geordies shouldnt have chased him out". As long as Mitro and Armstrong are our starting strikers next season I dont care. If shelvey and Townsend stay its a bonus. If Mbemba stays it would be legendary! Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Janmaat, Colo, Taylor can all go. Lascelles will boss the Championship and would be good for him!
The manager is surely the key though, never in a million years will Benitez stay, and who's gonna get this rabble playing like they actually care? Chris Hughton would be perfect, but the way he was treated, he'll never come back.
I don't think Pardew will take pleasure in it really, he still speaks very fondly of the club. He'd have good right to but I don't think he will.
The players will be the main reason if the toon get relegated for not giving 100%' The manager with as experienced as pardew knows exactly what is to be done and if all the players dont respond to his instructions as per team talk then the team is unlikely to win. Of course it will be the manager who will take the fall and that is the nature of the job but it will be a few players who through not following instructions and not giving 100% because all they care about is their mega wages....
The manager is key but I think a lot of the cancerous attitude that many senior players have will be purged from the club when we go down the likes of Tiote, Sissoko, Cisse, Janmaat and a couple of others are moved on. That culture has been there for a few years now with players thinking they are better than actually are and playing for Newcastle is beneath them. The one who we won't be able to shift is Coloccini which is a shame but we must strip of the captaincy and not make him an automatic starter simply because he was once decent and because we pay him a lot. But replace those work shy bastards with hardworking players who show leadership on the pitch and I think with the ones we don't sell we should have a decent squad. Ever the optimist. Don't underestimate how poor the standard of football is in the Championship though.
None of the teams we play now will relegate us. It's all about cause and effect and the reason we will drop is down to the fact we are **** over 38 games. Relegation was sealed off the pitch when we failed to replace Steve during that long break we had.
Charnley as much to blame, choose inertia over proactive decision making, should have taken Tufty at his word and judged him after ten games, that's when the useless number cruncher should have acted but he let it slide and that permeated the club throughout, from everything I've read he still would have kept Tufty in charge if Ashley hadn't finally woken up, too late though as the damage was done really from the start of the season as you say.
