I'd like to think our supporters have the nous and good grace to give credit where credit is due.

He can be a real Marmite personality and he has the unfortunate burden of being Ashley's puppet BUT it would be unfair not to congratulate Pardew at the minute.

Results are all you can judge managers on and his and the team's response to the derby defeat (amongst others) has been very, very impressive.

Tactically and in terms of his substitutions he's really surprised a few as these were questionable areas of his management.
What's more it looks like he still has the capacity to get the players playing for him and it seems the spirit in the squad is very healthy.

Most notably though, I think he should get credit for keeping faith with Debuchy and Sissoko PLUS not being scared to ditch Ben Arfa and Cisse.
Sends the right messages to the squad and I think you see that respect showing in the performances.

Keep it going Alan and the fans will support you, in spite of your idiot employers.

Judge him on his match performances, and yes he deserves credit for the game plan he has put up over the past 2 games.

Also, would like to add that it was a tactical masterstroke by Pardew to continue with Willo/MYM even when Colo was fit. These two played outstanding games today, and many believed that Colo would have been back in the team. He would've been attacked if MYM made a series of mistakes that cost us, but as it turned out fine, all is well, such is the nature of the game we love.

Hope it doesn't get to his head too much, and now what we need to do is to beat the teams that are beatable, and continue to do well against the top teams!

Tsk, and there was me looking forward to joining this thread only to find out it's a fake. Reasons to sack Pardew:

    1) He brought Cisse on again, and he was fcking gash.
    2) He brought Obertan on again, and he was fcking gash.
    3) He should have made sure Remy scored his other chance, if not for the match then for my fantasy football team.
    4) The defending was fcking awful. Apart from the series of great challenges, blocks and clearances, to allow Spurs to have 14 shots on target is embarrassing.
    5) Cabaye didn't score at least one from outside the box, shocking lack of form.
    6) Both Tiote and Anita misplaced a few passes here and there, clearly not playing for the manager
    7) Sissoko yet again played out of position. In his best position.

He needs to go now Jim. He's lost the dressing room and he doesn't know what he's doing.

NUFC have failed to score or even get any shots on target today. Pardew is a total disgrace and must resign immediately.

I'm not a fully paid member of his fan club, but I'm more than gracious enough to say well done to him. He's managed a performance in two games where I and many others were expecting nothing.
It makes me think maybe, just maybe, he does actually have a bit of tactical nous up there.
Then he blows it all when he says "I think we have played better - against Sunderland we played well and lost."
Er, no Alan, we played ****e.

Saying that, his biography has the potential to be an awesome read.

He'll give Jeffrey Archer a run for his money in the 'chatting ****' stakes. Expect plenty of inappropriate uses of the word 'rape'.

Seriously though, maybe this is a lesson for all those gagging for the club's hierachy to pull the trigger earlier on in the season. The amount of OTT reactions after defeats against Everton and Hull, and even the amount of bile spewed in hoping the team would lose the Morecambe match. I held my tongue at the time but inside I was pretty depressed with the sentiment and stopped reading the board for a while.

The Hull match was disappointing to lose from a winning position, but that happens in football and the strike from Sagbo was a quality goal.
The Everton game was a totally different matter, that first half was appalling. It was like that Portsmouth game we lost 4-1 about 6 years back (hello Sham).
It's the manner of defeats that gets me.
Play and lose, fine but there are games he's presided over where not one player has played and it's these games where he looks bereft of ideas.
I know there's only so much you can do from the sidelines, but it's galling to see that.
Maybe it's due to the North East roots.
Northerners took pride in working hard for the little they got. To then see someone on 30k+ a week shuffle round for an hour and a bit is sickening at times.
Then to have a finely preened, chest waxed, teeth shining Pardew try to gloss over it... Bit of muck behind the nails and he might relate better.

Anyway, in the distant future, when Mike is a part of our history and Alan's typing out his memoirs, I hope the Newcastle chapter sees him really tip out the can. Every ounce of detail on what happened.
