    We're delighted to announce that Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has been named Barclays Manager of the Season after a fantastic campaign with the Magpies.

    The Barclays Player of the Season award goes to Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, after helping City's defence to keep 17 clean sheets this season.

    Pards deserves it, he has been a massive factor in our success this season. ACS is right, Pards showed everyone you can do a lot with a small budget and a good mentality.

    Considering the pressure e has been under from day 1 this is an amazing achievement. Also Scout of the season should be Graeme Carr :)

    How unlikely did this seem during that first press conference where he was left alone by the Newcastle hierarchy? Whatever you think of him, he has true English grit.

    Hardly surprising after the season we've had. Every man and his dog has stood up and taken notice of us, Pards has stood out among all the other managers and worked wonders.

    This is horrible news, of course, but I can't really say it's a bad call as he's done a heck of a job.

    I am just waiting for Fat Mike to sack him now and bring in Glenn Hoddle or someone.....

    100% a worthy winner <ok>

    My question to you mags is...............has he and the chairman won your full support yet? It was not so long ago you were not happy with either of these guys but the chairman's policies appears to be working and you appear to have a manager than can take Toon in to Europe, perhaps consistently.
