I just posted this article on my blog - I wanted to share it with you lads also.

Alan Pardew got it wrong again on Saturday with his tactics and selection.

All week he was talking to the papers saying how we would play our game as normal and not worry about Stoke however when it comes to match day he springs a tactic change and selects a 3-5-2 formation. In my time following NUFC we have never been a 3-5-2 team and Saturday showed exactly why. To then add insult to injury he made Sol Campbell the lynch pin at the back - the key position in a 3-5-2 formation even though Sol has not played since late 2011.

Steve Harper must also take some blame for this heavy defeat as he looked shaky all afternoon gifting the second goal and getting no where near the first or third - an all around bad day at the office.

We are hitting a bad patch of form at the wrong time of the season. I do think we will be OK, but to do that we have to win the up coming 6 pointers against team in and around us like Wolves and Villa.

Hopefully the international break will allow us to get some players back to fitness and get can put an end to this poor run. For this to happen Pardew needs to make some wise choices as I really do feel he has been off his game over the last few weeks.

Ok, we've seen that you have a blog (stop advertising!), and you're just stating the obvious if this article is anything to go by. The Wes Brown and Stephen Warnock articles didnt do you much good either.

I think he's tried to do the best available without key personnel and had to take into account some aspects of Stokes style of play in and around the box.

Campbell had a shocker, Harper made errors but Stoke took their chances well and converted them

Enrique limping off was a blow but all in all it was a very bad day at the office.

BBC stats show Newcastle had 60% possession as well as more shots on and off target.

That shows how much we miss a decent striker or forward pairing.

    Exactly OT.

Say Walters headed wide, Harper cleared that ball, the referee didn't give the free kick and we didn't lose concentration at the end. Nobody would have begrudged us a point at all. I feel we played well, we just made some big errors and proved that Lovenkrands and Ameobi should never start for us! I think we need to forget this game, move on and look forward to the game against Wolves!

I'd rather focus on Wolves than play the blame game. We have too many injuries and have fit players, that's why we lost. Can we get 6 points from Wolves, Birmingham, West Brom and Blackpool? Yes. Will that alone keep us up? Yes. Bring it on.

If I remember correctly many people on here (including myself)
actually said if we were to play Campbell it was the right game to do so
many people actually wanted Campbell Williamson and Colo to be partnerd together!
At the end off the day we could not profit when we had the opportunities to do so along with poor defensive showing and very costly mistakes have been our downfall.
As showed by the stats we dominated the game from start to finish. although we were beaten 'emphatically' by the scoreline, 5shots at our goal is hardly getting routed.
    Pardew = not to blame.

I was fine with 5 at the back, but that was when I thought we would only have 3 midfielders available, all CMs. Also I expressly said Campbell should not be more than 4th choice.

    Smug mode ;)

Even at Campbell's age, I didn't think it was possible to play worse then he did against Liverpool I also thought he would be able to deal with Stoke and help the rest out.
Still though, It's all done and dusted and unless we get a major injury crisis then I dont think he will ever play for us again.
