Is it just me or does he just love his own voice?! He is constantly saying something either trying to make the supporters love him or say we will make signings, flair players, one ready to sign...... it goes on and on. I wish he had the dignity of Hughton or the sense of someone like Moyes who will say nothing of a transfer until it is done. I thought we had got to the stage where it had been realised that silence is good where transfers are concerned! What do u think?

Is it me or are you an annoying little poster? Pardews done an excellent job IMO, but I'd still rather have Chris Hughton, but he actually has spoken sense in most interviews. 1* from me.

Hughton's better in interviews, but we know a lot more about whats happening at the club with Pardew and thats fine by me.

  4. Pardew has done ok, but i reserve proper judgement until the the transfer window, to see if he was really just Ashley's bitch puppet all along or really a manager putting his all into the club.

Pardew is simply stating that the club is actively pursuing players that will benefit the squad.

He hasn't named anyone and that's a good thing.

Talk to the players, get them into the club, show them the present and the ambition for the future, sign them and then announce them.

dont get me wrong Im not knocking him as a manager I genuinely think he has done a great job with what he has had to work with since christmas but I just wish he would hold back from the media a bit and let the actions do the talking.

I'm on Ben's side here. Pardew's an alright manager, and I wouldn't mind if he was telling the truth but he's lying to us. We all know it deep down. We may sign some top players this summer, I dunno, but why come out and say we'll have an international player tied up in a few days, before back tracking and saying we're not close to signing anyone? With Hughton we got inklings from the media, but it was done mainly in-house. I think he has got to calm down a bit and just be himself. He's trying to please the fans too much.

Yeh thats all I was saying I dont like someone saying something like that then hearing nothing I'd rather hear nothing in the first place and be surprised when we did a deal. This was the case with Hughton most of the time.

if he delievers what he says then by all means let him continue. if his signings impress us and he wins over the last of the fans then I'm more than satisfied

I like it. It gives me something to read more regularly.

Plus, have any of you thought that all of this might actually be down to Pardew's honesty? Instead of just keeping quiet, he's keeping us constantly informed every step of the way. If something looks like it's going to happen, he'll tell us. If there looks like a set back, he'll tell us.

I'd rather have this instead of being left in the dark for most of the time.

I think Pardew has done an adequate job, continued on from the good work Hughton has done and hasnt dropped too many clangers while doing it.

But I agree with the original poster, he speaks far too often, has singled out players and criticised them to the press, e.g Krul & Ranger, and never knows when to shut the **** up.

Overall though I'm happy for him to continue his good work into next season, hopefully with some quality buys to back us up (Could hear Mike Ashley laughing in my head when I said that last bit)

Would give him a 7/10 for this season, would be slightly higher if it wasn't for his bizarre substitution and selection choices occasionally throughout the season.

It's a good job that he doesn't mind talking to the press after he was stuck in a press conference on his own when he was appointed.

I wouldnt say he's lying to us.

Give him the entire transfer window to do his job and judge him on the players he retains and brings in.

Let's not barricade the horse in the barn and burn it down just in case it may bolt.

He says all the right things but seems to care too much about saying the right things.
