    Just in case anyone is interested, Pardew has admitted that he tried to sign Gervinho.

    Perhaps that's a sign that we really are looking at strikers worth around the £10m mark? I sure hope so!

    I think the problem with Cabaye was Arsenal identified him as a strong player, and every time he got the ball, he was put under pressure. He had very little time on the ball to pick passes and create. Not all the teams in the league will be able to do that though. I expect to see better from him from now on.

    For their first games, Cabaye and Obertan did well. We couldn't get service to Ba so can't really judge him based on 45 minutes.
