Thats what Brucie is calling them, dont blame him either, same thing happened with Kenwyn, this may answer some of the questions we are asking. But the man GYAN has to work it out for himself. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14858921.stm
Thing is Bill, he blames agents and surely the agent in question would be Gyans. If thats the case why doesnt Gyan just tell him to stop? I tend to think there is more to this than simply naughty agents.
Syd, Im a contractor, I have an agent, we work together, but if he was just trying to line his own pockets at my expense, he would be dumped quick as. footballers can change agents too. in Gyans case the agent works for him, not the other way round. as you say, there may be more to this one.
These "Parasites" work for players. They make allot of money from the players they represent, therefore. I can't for the life of me think why an agent would do something without the approval of his client. If Gyan's name has been touted around by his agent this summer as seems very likely. You can bet he had a nod from Asa who is after either a move, or a pay rise.
yes but they only make a lot of money when the player moves!! i dont think he has asked for a move at all its just because he is out of form atm it will all come good im sure of it!! the only thing that is annoying is the way "so called fans" have turned on him, we knew he wasnt a 20 goal a season man when we got him so why all of a sudden is he "not bothered about us" and stuff like that?? for me he is playing exactly the same as when he first signed but without the goals.. and im sure the goals will come so everyone relax
I think that agents within football tend to operate in a very underhand manner, they take money out of the game and give nothing in return, and in my opinion the whole system needs changing with agents having to operate within strict regulated guidelines.... Having said that, it is surely the case that if a footballer is not happy with his agent, he should say or do something about it.
I've not turned on him but it's glaringly obvious he's not happy otherwise he'd sack his agent for causing ****. Agents do nowt to upset their client. If Gyan's agent is acting like a "parasite", it is with Gyan's blessing. He'll be off come Xmas unless we offer him a bumper pay rise.
the thing is mate i have an agent, and although its on a completly different scale wadge wise agents do **** all for ya, they get you a job and thats about it!! money for nowt really.. so "if" gyans agent is trying to get a move its just for himself really it doesnt mean gyan has asked for a move!! i think he is happy just hasnt scored a goal for a while, if the shot against the scum had of went in instead of hitting the bar everyone would be licking his arse...
It's completely different mate. Premiership Footballers are like cash cow's to agents. Gyan could well be his agents biggest earner and therefore best client. Maybe his only client. If Gyan asked his agent to wipe his arse, his response would be. "Baby wipes or tissue".
I haven't turned on Gyan I just think he is overweight from last season and that coupled with a look of total disinterest when playing says to me he does not want to be with us. The agent will not act unless told to do so by the player, Gyan may have told him to look around for another club or not we won't know for sure, the agent is an easy target for fans, managers and media alike. The thing that gets me though is who would come in for any player who did that? as more than likely he'll do it again, Bruce needs to sit down and thrash out the problem with Gyan and get him back onside or maybe, it's the clubs fault promising big players and success but delivering jack again we fans will never know. It seems the more money is involved with a club the further the club is distanced from the fans.
I think it could be a case of an agent who knows Gyan (not Gyan's main business manager but an agent familiar with him) going to clubs and saying "look, I know Gyan and his people, would you be interested in a deal", if the club show some interest he runs off to Gyan and his people and says "look chaps, I am well in with Valencia and they want you, I can set the deal up for a cut".....I think that is probaly more of the situation here rather than Gyan instructing his own main agent to go and look for a move.
Yes, at the end of the day, an agent can do what he likes but it takes the player's signature to make it happen. But perhaps what Asamoah was looking for was a pass, an accurate centre, something you can score from. One-up-front didn't suit Bent either. There's a pattern here.
Wasn't there rumours much earlier before all this cropped up, that Sunderland were offering Gyan around other clubs? Has Gyan been moaning to Bruce or higher ups about the way we play football? (I know if I was him I would have!) I'm not in the know, but think Bruce had him in the window for quite sometime and was trying to get Crouch! Crouch knocked him back so he looked toward Bendtner, Bendtner only signed in the last minute for the loan deal. Methinks Gyan would have been sold in the window if Crouch had been done and dusted.
