Just looking at our last top-flight relegation season and there are one or two worrying parallels to draw from it. This is the table at the beginning of March 96: http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/1995-1996/table/1996-03-02 Very similar records and we actually had a few home wins near the end of that season. For the record it was Man City, QPR and Bolton down at the death. Our only consolation is that there are five teams as poor as each other in the mix this time...
Good find sooper. I think we were as good as down at this stage in 96. We were already 4 pts adrift of safety, which is not the case here. We also have a much better team in comparison to 96 and our relegation rivals. I'm still quietly confident.
Again good find sooper and thank you for bringing in to the forum's attention, I am also confident that we will survive after watching the Everton game yesterday.
Cisse back for Bolton and he owes us big time. With him and Zamora up front I'm sure we'll have the firepower to stay up
Amazing how similar the record is at this stage. As you all say, we are a better team than that and with four teams below us I am not as down as I was before yesterday...
By my calculation he owes us 12 points, which I think he is well aware of my only fear is can he take the pressure?
