Papiss Cisse... what a guy!

We all know he's bashing in the goals, and he's been a revelation since signing in January... but Cisse is a unique breed of footballer for other reasons!

First he was featured in the news for visiting two young supporters at their home after they sent him a good luck card in January and just the other day the guy was mobbed after getting a £6 haircut in Gateshead; two somewhat strange acts considering his current status as one of the most in form players in the league!

But these aren't one-off acts, Cisse truly is a modest guy, and in a world where most footballers have huge egos and are vying to fill their wallets as much as possible, it's a refreshing thing to see.

Today's Sun includes an interview with the number nine in which he details his efforts to provide for his 70 or so Senegalese family members.

He told The Sun: ‘Football is everything to me and I don’t know what I would do without it. I am thankful to God for all he has given me and the luck I have had in fulfilling my dreams.

'I am very religious and I praise God for giving me the talent in football because without it my family may not have survived.

'Football was the light at the end of a tunnel that has allowed me to support them and give them a good life.'
