Remember where you heard this first, if Warnock steps down or is pushed out at the end of the season Paolo Di Canio is the man to replace him. Doing a great job at Swindon with his hard line tactics, he is exactly what Leeds need imo.

I think he is certainly ready to take to the next level. Can't help thinking it would be a risk not worth taking, good manager though

I think first choice should certainly be poyet, its hard to see someone with better potential to take leeds back to the prem and stabilised there as well unless of course someone like Lambert or Martinez become available for some reason

    I knew you'd ask me that.:emoticon-0111-blush

I just don't like him. He did well at Norwich, but I just don't rate him. Villa are a poor side, ok they are in a cup semi, but he just winds me up.
Maybe you see something in him that I don't.

The only thing that will stop Di Canio from moving on to manage bigger clubs, is Di Canio himself. He's a nightmare to man manage and as far as I know refuses to meet or discuss anything with the new Swindon Town board. I can't see any football club owner wanting a manager like Di Canio, as they usually like to be 100% involved in everything and thus a manager who likes to do things his way and his way only, is not one many will touch, no matter how good he may be.

Supposedly if you ignore his political beliefs he's meant to be a really nice bloke. Problem is he's been a bit of a tool for a lot of his career does anybody remember him pushing the ref over when he was at Sheff Wed?

You have just described the best manager in the game at the moment and every club would take him, Mourhino

I wonder how someone like Mourhino would do with shall we say more limited funding.

Mourinho won the UEFA Cup and Champions League with Porto on a fairly limited budget. Not our level limited, but by the standards of Madrid, Chelsea and Inter, I'd say very limited.

I think he did very very well at Norwich and think he'll more than turn it around at Villa. My only criticism of him actually is that he seems to want to change clubs very often, he left colchester to manage Norwich without hesitation when they were starting to build something successful and then the whole fiasco with him going to Villa as well was pretty poor.

di canio is at a very ambitious club, we have yet to see any ambition by the new owners, why would any decent manager want to come to EL ?

Turn it around at Villa? He's going about it the right way, 3-1 to Bradford <laugh>
