We´re getting no rub of the green From refs at this moment in time, Especially today from the Burg Of Clatten, a real pantomime But what goes around, so they say Will normally come round again, So hopefully margins will fall On our side from those whistling men But despite some dubious calls We weren´t at our best there today, So I´m thankful next week we´re off To Posh for an FA Cup fray For if nothing else it´s a chance To take a Premier League breather, While giving time to some of those To repair, who´re under the weather It also could give playing time To those who´ve not featured much yet, And while a good Cup run is fine The league is what counts don´t forget And thanks to our unbeaten run Which lasted for many a day, A few defeats now and again Won´t leave us in much disarray But still we do need to get back On track with a good win or two, And soon, as our Chris Hughton said In his after-match interview. Hi RBF, bad day at the office where, apparently the supervisor mislaid his guide dog. Never mind, brush ourselves down ready to go again!
Dave, I don´t know whether it really was as one-sided refereeing as it sounded on Canary Player, but if so, then let´s hope we get a good few Clattenburg-free weeks ahead.
I appreciate you're feeling lonely on the Wet Sham boards, but if you wish to spend some time on here for the company then I must insist that you make a positive contribution!
RBF - I was watching on a 'live stream' and Clattenburg had a howler. Especially when Tettey went down clutching his head (contact could be deemed to have been accidental), but he should still have stopped play and Tettey would have been in the box helping the defenders. Also, when Kane was fouled in the box and we didn't get the penalty, he should've booked Kane for diving. My main concern is the inconsistency of referees and they are brginning to steal the limelight - the penalty given against R Bennett goes on every week in most games and goes unpunished. I would also add that several of our players had a bad game and we tried to play too many long balls - we were able to get closer to creagting chances when the ball was played on the ground.
JR - that is pretty much how it sounded from Goreham, and you´re right, the inconsistencies are what really rile fans and players and managers more than anything else. Looking forward to seeing the highlights for myself.
