Anybody jealous, cause I have to say it I am!
They looked down and out , 2 years ago now they've got a very good squad.
Other than the Wickham signing, what a very good summer of spending they had. Without breaking the bank aswell <applause>

They were my surprise team. Their squad is so quick and direct. But will they suffer the Pardew midseason slump?

I hold my hands up to any team that comes up and looks decent, ie Bournemouth.
Its sickening though when we get the Iikes of Palace and Leicester come up and buy unknown players that turn into gems.
We on the other hand buy the likes of Rodwell, Johnston and Graham for double the value. Then we have our Buckleys , Bridcutts, Roberge and Mavrias' who are none contributers all on big contracts.

We've been so it for the past 10 years. Stupid money for average players.
A relegation and a rebuild might be the answer??

Nah mate, not for me. We had a god chance to right a lot of wrongs this summer but Ellis wouldn't risk unbalancing the books. If we do stay up this season and I think we will, the money is about to skyrocket (97m for the team the team that finishes bottom next season) it has to produce enough cash to adequately address the problems surely? Certainly a relegation next season rather than this season would give us a better chance of recovering.

Really, You'd go as far as to say they'll get relegated? Because we're both in a relegation scrap the way I see it I don't think Palace will be though I think they will sink down the table.

Never underestimate the power or ****dew! I popped a bet on at the start that they would go down.

Maybe the key to that is Pulis who got that bunch of ordinary players and got them firing on all cylinders in the year he was there and was then undercut by the owner.

They paid pennies for Scott Dann Hangeland was free. I think that's a general idea of how we've fecked up over the years

Thing is these "unknown gems" don't just become amazing overnight, they need time to adapt to the league - look at Mahrez. We never give our potential gems a fair crack at the whip. I still maintain Mavrias could have been very decent if he got a run of games, but we buy these lads with potential, never play them, ship them out on loan then sell. It's pointless.
