Good evening everyone! RLGB here. Due to a few mindless idiots on out board and sudden slating of the Mods for quite pathetic reasons, I have decided to come onto your board for some proper footballing banter! I hope many if you know that I am not a WUM and I don't have anything against Pompey. Anyway, Portsmouth I believe are away to Palace tomorrow, I was just wondering how you rate your chances? Pompey have had a few ok moments but I'm sure proper results are just around the corner... What are your thoughts on tomorrows game and any potential new manager brig announced soon? Thanks guys! RLGB
Hoping for at least a draw, if not a win. Secondly hoping for Ole G S to be appointed as our new manager - but who knows !! Your lot are going to take some catching.......
I'm not going to rate our chances that high. Draw at best I think. Saturday will be a bit different hopefully - looking for a win then, but we have been atrocious at away games this season. As for the manager situation - I have accepted that it might/probably be S O'D, and I will support him. If it turns out to be OGS then I'll be very happy. However, on another forum I saw that there had been a (now deleted) tweet saying that it's going to be someone we haven't heard about. So - watch this space!
I have a horrible feeling about tonight - it's either going to go our way or it is going to go badly wrong. I feared the worst on Saturday when we were 3 down after 30 minutes - but the boys managed to roll their socks up and had the woodwork been 6 inches higher we might have sneaked a draw. I am going to go for an optimistic draw this evening - but who knows, it's not like we are unaccustomed to picking up the points at Selhurst Park!
Palace are flying high and our away record resembles that of a scottish team in europe, so I'd bite your hand off if you offered us a point.
Yep, a point would do me, but not hopeful. And OGS would be a great addition if we could use his contacts in January. Rio cant get a game, and Owen and Berby are just bench warmers. Would take them on loan (minus the wages of course).
Cripes !! We would have to drop Kitson to make way for Berbatov - what a difficult decision for our new manager to make
.... mind you, I'm more concerned about the replacement right back for the injured Halford. Please, please, please select Joel Ward ahead of the "headless chicken" Mokoeana.......
RLGB not a WUM! I think it will be close at Palace but we will not come away with the cigar, they have been good so far at home. Seems a few of your lot have been banned for last nights events on your board! I have offered my services as a new and unbiased non facist MOD on the Saints board but have not heard yet if I have been successful!
SB3 there is a strict vetting procedure in place. You'll be required to provide DNA (swab) samples, sign a confidentiality agreement, disown your family and swear allegiance to Don Cortese. Not easy to get into the 'Firm' - and as for getting out...
Must admit SB3 every time I see you on here I want to go into Dick Emery mode - "Oh you are awful..." Did you enjoy halloween?
Thanks 3rd eye! Haloween was great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Sadly I was not on our board last night as I was visiting elsewhere and enjoying the fun and games on all hallows eve!.......
We deserved better than 0-0 !! As in our away match at Ipswich, we controlled virtually the whole 90 minutes, and again should have won. Did Steve Henderson have any saves to make throughout the entire game ? Still, a draw is a draw. One point is better than none. PUP
A point away at Palace, with how they have been performing, is a result in my eyes. Lets go for some consistancy now - win at home, draw away. Need to beat SC and get Forest of their recent pick up in form on Saturday. 1 point gained - onto the next game. ON a different note - Southampton 5 points clear......they are going to be out of sight very very soon....not just for Pompey, but for West Ham, Leicester, Boro etc.
ON a different note - Southampton 5 points clear......they are going to be out of sight very very soon....not just for Pompey, but for West Ham, Leicester, Boro etc. its early days yet. Its nice to be where we are, but seriously taking nothing for granted. lets get enough points to avoid relegation first, and then crack on from there. Do you guys really think there is a chance of OGS as manager? SOD was at the match Saturday apparantly, but with no announcement so far anything is possible.
