We are a handful of games into this season, and I feel that the game coming-up next Monday is a "six-pointer"!We certainly can't afford to lose it.Palace away is a game we must have targeted as a winning-chance at the start of the season.....now,it's vital that we don't lose it!We must make sure we make no more sloppy mistakes, gifting our opponents goals, and concentrate all game.Confidence is at a low point, but we haven't become a bad side in two games.I hate to say it,but Vito should be rested, and Connor should be played as a centre-forward.Get the lads playing positive...too much negativity puts them under pressure.Play AJ on one wing, and Buckley on the other, and go for it!

It's an important game but it's not a six pointer imo, in reality it's not even a must win. For the reasons you said in the your opening sentence. This time last season we were on three points. Wish people would stop flapping. Drama central. I look forward to the palace game, and i'll maintain, any away points will be a bonus like it is to any team who won't be challenging for the title this early in the season. I ask for commitment and organisation and hopefully we'll nick at least a point.

The consequences are giving three points and confidence to a team that is a rival at the bottom-end of the league.

I not sure how I could live with those consequences

There aren't any 6 pointers going into week ten, it's daft mate. It's nonsense. Imo of course.

According to some, every games last season was a 'must win' .......... this game is important but too early to be a six pointer imo.

Whether it's played in August or May doesn't matter a damn. At the end of the season Palace and us will be somewhere close - and we need to get those points in the bag.

If it makes you guys feel better you have us lot in I think 3 games time so you'll at least get 3 points that day with how we are at the minute

We've been bad for most of the season! How many games have we deserved to win? One, against Stoke, just! Most of the draws we have picked up have been fortunate, games we probably should have lost! Teams of equal quality seem to be more up for games, whilst we trundle along making stupid braindead mistakes!

    Sorry Calc but don't agree.
We beat Stoke, which imo, took a bit pressure off us and I expected us to lose against both Southampton and Arsenal.
Southampton without doubt was a complete debacle but Arsenal yesterday didn't win the game we gave them it. Having said that Arsenal Deffo and probs Southampton will be top 6-8 teams and we aren't so no shame to lose to them. Just annoying the way we lost yesterday.
There's a long way to go and once again imo only there are 5-6 worse teams than us in this league.

West Brom were given a penalty which was ridiculous, we worked our socks off against Spurs and Swansea never looked like beating us.

I can understand your frustration though mate, yesterday was a massive effort from the supporters and a **** up from the players.

Our nerves were showing in the warm up and it never got much better.

We lost dozens of must win games last year. So they weren't must-win, were they? And neither is this one

Because following an 8-0 thrashing and the fiasco of amateur defending night yesterday, the rot could easily set in with defeat at Palace. Next Monday won't relegate us the next day but we've all seen how losing streaks at Sunderland can quickly escalate. It will be 3 defeats on the bounce and increase the pressure on a set of players that quite frankly I have little confidence can handle the situation.

So, by that standard, I agree next Monday is at the very least a must not lose game and bordering a must win one by millimeters.

I don't think we can pull off another miracle though like last year mate. If we continue to flirt with disaster on a regular basis, disaster is what we will eventually encounter.

This is true, and we really cant keep losing games against our rivals in the bottom six, for that is where we are, and will stay until the turn of the year imo.

The 'must win' games we lost last season would 9 times out of 10 have sent us down! If we lose the same ratio of games against our relegation rivals this season then we will probably go down! Cant see another miracle happening! I will always settle for draws away from home against our relegation rivals, as long as we regularly pick up 3 points at home against them, something we didnt do often enough last season!

All teams are relying on other results, that's what happens in a league isn't it?

As long as we are not cut adrift by around the new year, get 2 centre backs in the window, then i'll settle for that!
