At least I think it's a loan - "Fulham midfielder Pajtim Kasami has left the west London club to sign for Pescara. The Delfini have completed the signing of the 20-year-old, who returns to Italy having played for Palermo just two seasons ago. The Switzerland Under-21 international has struggled for first-team football at the Premier League side, and joins Cristiano Bergodi's side until the end of the season." http://www.football-italia.net/30206/kasami-completes-pescara-switch
Not sure if it's true but it's been reported that Kasami's registration may not have gone through as there was a problem with internet/fax at the Italian FA. Could be same problem affected Roma getting a keeper replacement from Fiorentina (payback for the Berbatov transfer incident?) for Stekelenberg.
There's still hope Pescara and Pajtim Kasami's agent are ready to appeal to the Italian football federation to rubber-stamp the Fulham start's botched loan move. Kasami was set to move to the Serie A side on loan during the transfer window but the move collapsed in ridiculous circumstances. A poor internet connection at the hotel in which the documents were due to be sent from meant the midfielder's move to Italy could not be officially finalised. The deadline came and went and Kasami's agent, the influential Mino Raiola, vented his fury at the hotel's facilities. But with Fulham manager Martin Jol unlikely to call on the Swiss Under-21 youngster any time soon, it has left the 20-year-old in limbo. Raiola, though, is ready to go the Italian authorities with the necessary paperwork that shows an agreement was sorted before the deadline. And Pescara hope the FIGC grants the loan request.
Really hope he gets his loan spell, he seemed devastated that it fell through and deserves to be playing some football.
It looks as the appeal to resuurect his move to Pescara has fallen through sinc Jol told the Fulham Chronicle today that he intends to send Kasami out on loan ("hopefully") over here. FULHAM boss Martin Jol plans to send out Pajtim Kasami when the loan window opens tomorrow. The 20-year-old saw a move to Italian side Pescara collapse on transfer deadline day after his agent Mino Raiola was unable to process the paperwork in time due to internet problems in his hotel. Kasami has made just three substitute appearances for Fulham this season and is stuck behind Damien Duff and Ashkan Dejagah in the pecking order. And Jol hopes to get the former Palermo youngster game time elsewhere when the loan window reopens in the morning. He said: “Pescara told us he would be a vital part of there squad but in the end it didn't come off. Sometimes you hope and pray that it will happen because he wanted to play. At 7 o'clock they had to register but the internet wasn't working so it was bad luck. I will try to do something because he deserves to play. Damien Duff and Dejegah play in his position, so there is not a lot of opportunities here. Hopefully we can find something for him because he's a good talent.”
Again struggling with the translation, but it sounds like Pajtim Kasami is considering a return 'home' and Swiss side FC Luzern are interested. "After an Internet glitch has made changing the Swiss U21 Stars Delfino Pescara to frustrate the 20-year-old is considering all options. Many remain no longer. Almost everywhere, the transfer window is already closed. One of the still remaining options would be the passage to Switzerland. Through tomorrow, Friday, the Swiss club is still serving abroad. Then also the chance for Kasami has elapsed. FC Luzern has already signaled interest in the midfielder. Now courting the FC St. Gallen to the services of youngsters. Nevertheless, the Swiss, now seem to have his nose in front. Kasamis contract expires in London until 2015". Source: http://www.fussball.ch/St+Gallen+will+Luzern+Kasami+ausspannen/575908/detail.htm
Kasami's loan to FC Luzern has been confirmed : "Fulham has today completed an agreement for the loan signing of Pajtim Kasami to Swiss Club FC Luzern until the end of the 2012/13 season. The attacking midfielder was one of Martin Jolâs first signings when he joined the Club in the summer of 2011, and he made his Fulham debut in our UEFA Europa League Qualifier against RNK Split. Kasami is also a Switzerland Under-21 international and represented his country at the London Olympic Games. After finishing second behind FC Basel in the Swiss Super League last season, Luzern currently sit ninth in the division and are next in action when they host FC Zürich on Sunday." I fear you may be right. What an absolute waste. Would he have had more of a look in had he scored 'that' penalty against Chelsea?
Not being able to go regularly I never even got to see him play - so what was the issue - attitude, was he not good enough, did Jol not fancy him, what? I thought there were reasonable hopes for him when he arrived from Italy.
