Was hoping someone would do this before I did, hence the late match report.

Walked up to home park on my own for he first time in years as no2 has teenager flue, but must be genuine to miss a match. Up until the pen and sending off we were fine and I thought we would turn them over. No doubt I will be proved wrong by the TV highlights but I was convinced Trotters played the ball and in any event it was never a red card.

Once down to 10 men we didn't have a clue and hardly threatened. Even with 3 at the back we didn't show any attacking intent. The Ref was simply rubbish and not sure why the Lyndhurst side linesman was there . He didn't do anything apart from picking up Alessandra for a foul throw after 80 mins.

Cole played musical statues (again) for their 2nd, and the rest of the defence did the same for the 3 , the 4th was a well applauded cracker. Argyle showed no passion and never looked like scoring.

All in all a poor performance with no one taking any credit. For reasons unknown, Reid was the sponsors MoTM but he was hopeless. Banton was worse. MoTM was probably Nelson, Alessandra or Blizzard but no one really deserved it.

It was a match that was significantly changed by poor officials and Argyle failed to adapt to the situation. Hence we got what we deserved- nothing.

Yep. As a contest it was over in the 11th minute. The officials this season have been abysmal but today they must take the record for the worst. First time at HP for this Ref and hopefully the last. I didn't see a foul for the penalty either but once given then the Red must follow under current rules. The rules are stupid. You can take another player out from neck high nigh on and only get a yellow. Touch (or not in this case) a player in the box and because you are the last man according to the officials it's a Red. Completely dumb. Once the player got a red then the contest never took place following it. Well done Ref for ruining a game of football and even bigger plaudit to the lino for seeing nothing on the pitch at all.

The things some of us have to endure to keep you ex-pats informed is sometimes beyond the call of anyone's duty.

Didn't see that coming...even with ten men you would expect a fight....sometimes it revs a side up...but it seemed to be accepted that they were going to lose.

Two goals at the end was like turning a knife in a corpse.

Did Banton flook it all first time around....he is a luxury we can't afford...and should of been taken off when down to ten....it must of been more like playing with nine with him on the pitch with no desire to get back and defend.

Best to forget it and pretend it never happened...but of course he will now miss possibly three games and upto now he was as good as anyone in our defence...so problems for Sheridan to solve next time out.

Prevented from attending this one and the resulting disappointment by my daughter's birthday.

Does that mean Trotman is banned for 3 games? That could be awkward as he, Nelson and McCormick have been a decent unit when I've seen them. I can't help noticing that 2 of the 3 regular goals appear to have been headers either from or after corners....

I did listen to the radio and questions were asked why Banton isn't played as a second striker alongside Reid rather than remaining isolated in a wide position. Why Boco rather than Gurreiri who was also palying quite well before his read card? Sheridan was only saying in the week that he wasn't concerned about Gurreiri's fitness.

This sort of thing happens I suppose, refs being what they are, but can't help having a few questions in my mind.

It's one result but it doesn't stop the doubt and depression setting in. It seems we take one step forward and then the same step backwards. After recent seasons it looked like the beginnings of something better for us. You know the sort of thing when your luck turns. We had begun to at least get results and had climbed out of the danger area. Not a great team but my feeling is that this league isn't anywhere near what it used to be. It is poor from top to bottom but being one of the better sides in a poor league is better than nothing when you have been almost down and out.

They say there are defining moments in a season. For me and Argyle I think it was McCormick being injured and out for the rest of the season. I just don't trust Cole and in turn, when he is at the back, the rest of the team in front of him. I have no confidence in the man. Unfair that maybe but I don't rate him to be the stopper in a winning side. At best it will be mediocre. I just hope we maintain enough form to keep out of the bum squeaky end of the league because apart from that our season is about over. One man doesn't make a team I often hear but it can make one hell of a difference to it if they aren't there. The irony is that the one who helped injure him is now suspended for 3 games as it was a straight red he got.
