I just read this story from a few weeks back - hopefully our Tony doesn't do astrology? This guy seems to be a real whacko - we're lucky to have Tony. We all know Paddy Kenny likes to party - perhaps March 17th would have been a luckier birthday for him though? Paddy Kenny: Bolton Wanderers sign former Leeds goalkeeper please log in to view this image Bolton Wanderers have signed former Leeds United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny on a short-term contract. The 36-year-old left Leeds by mutual consent in August after rumours emerged that owner Massimo Cellino asked that Kenny not be selected. There were reports that the Italian considered Kenny's birthday, 17 May, to be unlucky. Kenny becomes the second Bolton signing this week after striker Max Clayton joined from League One side Crewe. The former Sheffield United man, who moved to Elland Road from QPR, won the last of his seven Republic of Ireland caps in 2006. Kenny is available for Bolton's Championship game at Wolves on Saturday. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/29285414 Paddy Kenny dropped by Massimo Cellino because of birth date please log in to view this image The Professional Footballers' Association is investigating claims Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino ordered his head coach not to select Paddy Kenny because of his birth date. Reports claim the Italian has made the move because he considers the goalkeeper to be bad luck because he was born on 17 May. Leeds and ex-QPR man Kenny have declined to comment on the allegations. Cellino, who took over in April, dislikes the number 17. He had seats at former club Cagliari taken out and replaced with 16B. He is also unhappy with Kenny's fitness and the player has not been taken on their pre-season trip to Italy. On Thursday, Leeds, who named former Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday as head coach last month, signed former Reading goalkeeper Stuart Taylor. Since Cellino's takeover they have embarked upon a cost-cutting exercise that has seen the canteen at their training ground closed down. Players have been forced to bring packed lunches and order in sandwiches. Born on the 17th Other players who would fall foul of Massimo Cellino's unusual policy Carlos Alberto (July 1944) Jaap Stam (July 1972) Alvaro Recoba (March 1976) Thierry Henry (August 1977) Edin Dzeko (March 1986) Shinji Kagawa (March 1989) http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26942154
Dates of birth ranging from 1st to 31st in Rangers players cases seem to be bad omens........................
I will always regard Paddy Kenny as one of the heroes of Colin's wonderful promotion team. Good luck to him.
With you there Dens, wasn't he player of the year that time? He had a bit of a drunken episode with those messages, but he was getting abuse too at the time. All water under the bridge now
