With Blacburn, Burnley and Wolves reportedly seeking Man Utd defender Paddy Macnair on loan, is this type of player out of our reach or do we indeed need one? Surely if the likes of Blackburn can afford to pay a portion of his wages then we must be able to Now would be an ideal time for a couple of class loanees to see us home Would ME be up to the challenge? Thoughts?
Unless we sign a proper top quality defender, then I can't see anyone ousting Berra and Smith, unless we get injuries of course. No manager is going to loan out a player to us knowing full well that they'll be just warming the bench. Smith and Berra are decent enough to get us in the to six, if they perform week in week out. Hopefully some of the youngsters out on loan can step up a notch enough to be challenging either of them two when they return in the new year. Ideally I'd like to see one or two of them get some first team experience in the near future, as this is a pretty demanding league, so for two defenders to play nigh on every minute of every game is not ideal.
