From LFC webiste {LINK}: Do I speak for everyone when I say... STOP THE TALKING AND DO IT THEN!!! ...???????? PS: sympathy posts welcome
It's a strange one, If I'm honest, I still think he could make it with us, and that's merely from my own judgement of seeing him play. He obviously has the ability, the skill and the technique to play in this team, but.. Rafa, Kenny, Hodgson and now Rodgers all have never fancied him. 1. He hasn't made the most of the opportunity's he has had (albeit limited opportunity's) 2. I'm assuming he has bad work rate or a bad attitude, because surely he would of got a few games this season other wise? He has looked a class above in the U21s and the reserves. PS: You're welcome
That's true, although I think he did alright at Norwich. He is a strange one, though. We all had such high hopes for him, just goes to show you need more than just talent in modern day football.
He did do alright at Norwich but they were in the Championship at the time. He did it at youth international tournaments too. However, he is yet to do it at the highest level including the Europa League! I had very high hopes for the lad but they have more or less evaporated for me now. There is still time and a slight chance for himt o turn it around but I just don't see it happening, certainly not at Liverpool unfortunately
Being a few years older than Suso shouldn't he be at the stage where Suso is already. Every time I see him play reserve team footy he looks handy but he just can't translate that to the first team. There's just no excuse for not being able to get the basics right whatever level you play at. If he proves me wrong I'll applaud the lad but his time at LFC has run its course IMO. Some players just can't translate talent as an individual to talent as a team player.
I think he needs to move to progress his career. He has a reputation at Liverpool now that will be very difficult to shift. Having said that, Lucas and Kuyt both managed it with hard work and determination, has Pacheco got this will power? Has he got the fight to turn things around? IMO, no he hasn't
No chance. Morgan, Suso, Sterling and Wisdom - could all grab their chance (if they haven't already). Still time for henderson, Robinson and Flanagan too. Kelly already there (injuries notwithstanding). Not Pacheco though, sadly. And I hate to say this, but Sahin reminds me of Bruno Cheryou. Give him till the end of the season, and that's it.
That's what I mean. As I understand it, there's an option to buy at the end. Would you - on what you've seen so far?
Think Dani has certainly had a bad few seasons until this one.. But this season has shown a better understanding of what is required. I think he has all the tools, but now has big competition with other players due to come in. I think its admirable that he still wants to succeed with us in the face of adversity and hope he can make the most of any opportunities he gets and becomes an option for us.. Would rather see Cole and Downing shipped out before Dani is anywhere near the exit
There are others that should go before Pacheco when it comes to being sold. He should go out on loan to another PL side so that he can show the manager what he can do. Sahin will come good he's suffering from being sat on the bench at RM but he's a good player and I would welcome us buying him.
I think you have to take Drowning and Joke Hole out of this equation. Yes they have to be shifted on but that doesn't mean Pacheco's going to get any closer to the first team because when we shift them we have to buy others if we want to progress. I think for Pachecos sake and ours he will have to go too. He'll be just as far down the pecking order if not further.
I don't think sending him out on loan AGAIN will tell BR anything new. We can't just keep pretending he might come good when its blatantly obvious he has a talent that only goes to a certain level. Why stifle the progress of the next lads coming through just for a gamble that really doesn't look likely to pay any dividends whatsoever? As for Sahin he looks exactly like I feared he would. A player who has bags of talent but won't put the work in and won't put a foot in for fear of getting injured. Decent player but he'd be first on my list to drop out once Lucas is fit.
I don't see him as ever being anything more than a squad player for us. To be honest I'd forgotten that we still had him until this summer
Not sure if he'll make it, but don't want him to leave either. Got a feeling he'd be one of the players a team regrets letting go in a few years time when he's developed a bit more.
I thought that might be the case if we'd sold him a couple of years ago but not now. The fact that none of our last four managers have given him a regular slot tells me he isn't earning it or isn't up to it. My eyes tell me the same. If he hasn't developed enough between the age of 18 to now I just don't see him developing enough at all.
I would like to see him play in the first team for a couple of games to really judge him. Would like to see him playing with gerrard Suarez and sterling to see if he fits maybe 30 mins in a couple of games. Cause when he has played he has always been playing with the reserve side.
This. Everyone's saying he hasn't made the most of his chances... what chances? The only chances he gets are a quick 15 minutes at the end of a cup game OR a start with the rest of the B squad. How is he going to prove his worth when everyone around him doesn't know how to pass the ball, how to let him play off the last defender, etc? Suso and Sterling both looked average when playing next to a lot of these second teamers as well... yet when they are played in the first team they excel. We play him in reserves, he scores goals + assists more than most players. He dribbles, passes, tackles, nutmegs, etc. So he has actually taken his chances because those are where he gets game time. Yet he's NEVER given a chance in the first team. Why? Don't give me the "the manager didn't play him so he obviously must be crap" excuse. Managers aren't always in the position to play youngsters. We certainly haven't been until Rodgers. Rafa bought him when he was young, and by the time he developed Rafa was long gone. Roy's first team was so bad that he couldn't risk playing youth anyway, plus he was selling off our best prospects. Kenny played his own young signings and that's about it, the rest were given a handful of cameo appearances. Even the beginning of our season was poor, so we only had Wisdom, Sterling, and Suso getting chances. The only way a youth player will ever shine at a club is if they are given a string of appearances for the first team. That's why we have Suso, Sterling and Kelly in the first team now. You can argue that luck over the summer pushed Suso and Sterling into the first team, but nothing Pacheco has done has warranted him being so ignored. Every time he isn't picked he trains harder, and scores in the next reserve match. Every time someone gets a chance over him he congratulates them and continues to practice. He's graceful in defeat, a great guy (giving his shirt to a kid in a wheelchair on the Kop). And every time he plays for the youth he's a force to be reckoned with. If he leaves, alright. No player is bigger than the club, certainly not a youth team member. But if he leaves, he'll succeed at a top club. It's a shame and a waste, like Insua or San Jose. Rafa left us a great youth setup, until now we haven't been using it right. I think he should get a few chances this season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLKmpLo-2fU Last point - Downing and Cole have repeatedly gotten opportunities to change the managers mind. Poor performance after poor performance, one of those two always make it onto the team sheet in the cup games. Taking those two spots and giving them to Pacheco and lets say Ngoo would probably pay dividends for us.
