Phil, the only time you could hear the KOP was in the 21st minute when they stood up and applaused. Oh, and Suarez's goal. Other than that, we drowned out any murmur that came from them. I thought the stadium was nice. Programme overpriced at £5. Pie with curry sauce did a great job, while banter outside was okay until the walk back to the car when we were met by cheers of "your ****", "****ing knobheads, we'll have you". Classy. Ratings: Tremmel - Stays riveted to his line, does not fill with confidence, would rather Cornell tbh. Tiendalli - Caught out of position a few times, but made up fo it everytime, should get a run in the team. Ash - His usual self I think. Looked confident and only missed one clearance with a slip. Chico - Getting better every game, and what a powering header. Jazz - Looked a little rusty, but got much better as game progressed. Leon - Legend. Pulled the strings with Ki and never stopped running. Ki - As Leon. Pablo - Showed signs of his Spanish form. Some great touches and went forward well. Dyer - Frustrates me a little. Can see runs, but he decides to stop and wait for a pass. That said, some neat play at times. Michu - What's he worth now? Great game and created a lot of space. What a signing. Monk - Unfair criticism of him. Played well from what I saw behind the goal. Let Suarez get above him fo the goal, but, cleared a few other deady looking balls. Wayne - Did well, as usual, still him ahead of Nath atm.
Tremmel not up to it you say Norwayjack ,what about Cornell could he do any better vrs chelsea or do we need someone on loan for 8wks or so as you say if hes sh-- what chance do we have vrs chelsea hope chico is fit for sat, Tiandelli play ok last night did he as they have not shown any thing over here in aussie, only the man utd vr chelsea
Agree with you Norway Jack 3pts would be good in nov vrs L/Pool, we all know what could happen when they come to town just look at man utd last nt. they won sat and lost in cup its happend to us before, also other teams in the same situation ,Ive been a swan over 55yrs,and seen some great teams and games down the old vetch, lets hope im wrong this time and we put the double over Brendan Great win lads.
Lauds, ANYONE would be better than Tremmel. I was sat right behind the goal, when Tiendalli had to HOOF the ball away from his hands because he didn't pick the ball up nor shout that he was coming for it. P.s Tiendalli did brilliant. Deserves to play Saturday for sure.
Solid performance but should never have given away the free kick where he did Everyone in football knows how good Gerrard's delivery is and a goal was always a likely result. Anyone think that Michu was at fault in letting Suarez find space for the goal? Just viewed it the once and that was my impression.
The only worry I have for tomorrows game is Tremmel, not sure what we can do though, think Dai Cornell is far too raw, and young, he was in Gwyr class with my son, so I have been watching his development with interest, and I don't think he is ready. That said if our defence can put in another shift like the one an Anfield, Tremmel should in theory have little to do, though Chelsea will be a much bigger threat going forward. Thought Jazz had a very good game against Liverpool, and I was impressed with Tiendalli, who for his first game for us didn't do much wrong, surely Laudrup will go with him now at LB. Anyway I'll be very happy with a draw, we are building slowly but surely........................
Thanks for the Jazz comments. Surprised he didn't get a look at left back when Taylor went down considering the poise he showed for Wales against Mexico.
He's only got to stop shots. He doesn't have to be creative or score goals. He'll be fine ( he said in an unconvincing manner!)
Tiendalli was awesome. Did very little wrong, and Jazz the same, apart from giving away the free kick. Think we'll get beat, but only just, 2-1.
Ok maybe I'm wrong aswan, but I have this gut feeling that Tremmel is a disaster waiting to happen, maybe the games I watched him in, were not representative of his limitations, but I hope I'm wrong as our options are not great, I did think we would have gone into the Emergency loan market, but Laudrup must feel some confidence in Tremmel, we'll see................
Sadly Phil, your not wrong. During the second half of the Pool game, Tremmel looked a bag of nerves. Didn't come of his line, didn't communicate once with the defence, and very nearly gifted them a goal.
