http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...hirt-to-best-coach-in-the-world-Jose-Mourinho Is Jose the best coach in the world and if not, who is better?
Now that baconface has retired, it must be unanimous. League titles in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain. Champions league winner with 2 teams included Porto who are relative Minnows on the European Stage. I dont think anyone else has had so much success everywhere they have been. Were it not for the arguably the best team in football history (Barca) he would have won a lot more in Spain. He came second with 92 points one year, in any other year that would have been a guaranteed title. That has to be the highest points tally for a runner up in European football history. All he is missing now is a third CL title and sustained success at one club, which hopefully he will get with us.
People forget he got a club the size of orient with 2000 crowds into a CL spot too before he went to porto
Agree with everything except that 'baconface gone' statement. Even if he is hanging around he can't hold a candle to Jose, Fact!
Yes winning the CL with a Porto side full of youth players and South American players brought in on the cheap no manager in Football today has such an accolade Klopp nearly pulled it off but fell at the final hurdle.
Can't see how Guardiola is a better coach than Jose, he has won stuff with possibly the best team for years, then that team got found out and rolled by Joses tactics and a team arguably not as good as Barca. Jose figured it was suicide to take Barca on, so relied on defence and let Barca run around in circles going nowhere, until Chelsea hit them in a classic counter attack, with power and speed, and presto Barca are beaten. Pep now at Bayern, another team already at the top with no input from Pep. When he takes a poor team somewhere, then he can be compared to Jose. A better comparison is Klopp, who has also developed a minor team to the top of the tree. That's what great coaches do.
The Bayern side that played at Man City look even better than last year. I agree that Klopp is a good coach.
virtually no opposition in respective leagues, and have to just concentrate on Europe! it is like managing current heat team..
Hard to judge if Bayern are better on a result against Man City, but take your point. I'm also not saying Pep is not a good coach, just that he has not earned the right to be called a great one until he starts with a lower team and brings it up, like Jose and Klopp have done.
People say Guardiola had it made for him at Barca dont know what the yare talking about. He came in and got rid of the big names and took risk and in turn created one of the best sides in history. It wasnt passed onto him. Jose is a very good coach but seems to create aging sides that suffer unless there is major investment after he leaves.
