While I have no doubt that there are major crims out there trying to get our info. I can't help being cynical that one of the ways being touted as being safe is to update your operating systems. I might be wrong but this comes so soon after they stop supporting Windows XP. Hmmm. XP is probably the most installed system at a guess. How much will Microsoft make by making all those XP users get licences for something new.
Windows 7 took over XP last year as the top OS, XP Still holds a massive share though mainly due to the corporate market. However you should still move from XP simply because of the memory limitations IMO. Malware wise, there has been a massive change in the targeted software, moving away from the OS's 9mainly Windows) to cross platform software IE Java, Abode products even Internet Explorer gets a little break as again cross platform browser are more targeted, Firefox being the most targeted last year. However don't get complacent as the payloads are still mainly directed at Windows platforms.
