http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,16527_6926664,00.html Oxo's dad is sounding like he want him to move, in jan he gave a story saying that he thought it would benefit him to move and now this. Starting to annoy me a little!!
Didn't sound like that to me. He was just saying that if the big clubs come knocking, you're doing something right at the academy. And that there will always be rumours. At the worst he was neutral, no more than that.
Anyway, is it not up to Alex himself ? Don't just judge by his dad, at least he's winning something down here, not like Arsenal *tumble weed flys past trophy cabinet* ........
I bet NC is glad to add 2 trophies to our rather empty showcase. Apparently when being shown around he saw a Samorai sword in our trophy cabinet and was dismayed to find it was a gift not a trophy. He remarked that we should have more trophies..second him on that!
Oxo this, Oxo that!! CAN WE PLEASE STOP THESE PATHETIC ARTICLES THAT ARE BASICALLY A BASE FOR RUMOURS TO ESCALATE!
Oh man get used to them they are going to be plentiful over the coming months, as well as the bulk of the team I would say. I would say that all the motorways around here are going to be chock-a- block With the supposed movements in and out of St Mary's according to the press and our own "according to sources" rumours.
I don't care if this is a harmless and neutral interview, the man should shut his trap and not say anything,it certainly won't help if he does want him to move as cortese don't like people opening their mouths! The boy may move he may not but at the end of the day all i want is a bit of respect for my football club! We have guided him to be in his current position of being a wanted footballer so how about his father not feed the media nothing and give southampton a bit of respect! That's all i ask and what i think we deserve.
If approached about Oxo and he said no comment, everyone would be making a meal of that. He's in a no win situation.
Took the words out of my mouth. The only way that he would satisfy some people is if he stated that Alex would never move under any circumstances, and then nobody (quite rightly) would believe him anyway.
No i'm sorry i just don't agree,if he said no comment then it probably wouldn't even get aired on tv or where ever and even if it did get airtime then i'd respect a no comment more than the dribble he comes out with,i remember the interview from january and it enraged me,southampton deserve more respect than someones dad basically trying to say his son's available to whoever wants him.At the end of the day he's a saints player who was happy to sign a 3 year deal in the summer so we hold all the cards,if lowe was in charge i'd say he'd be off but with cortese i don't think it's gonna be quite so easy for the big clubs to throw their weight around.
I think that the interviews with Alex and his Mum after the match on Saturday told us a lot more than this particular interview does. Mark is obviously "playing a dead bat'" to the question, while Alex and his Mum were much more emotional and positive about the club in general. This maybe because that they were caught up in the occasion, but having experienced such a day could make him want to stay "on the bus" and complete the journey.
I think his dad seems to be a bit controlling, i know Alex is only 17, but i think he knows what happened to Theo and will make the right decision himself.
He'll be better than Mark ever was and Mark knows it, he's controlling although said nothing wrong in this interview.
People worry too much. Nothing wrong with this interview. Alex sounded positive at Walsall game, so don't believe that he has already signed for another club. Under those circumstances, he would be happy about promotion but wistful. He wasn't..he was just excited. He knows that other clubs are interested so he will not be destabilised by rumour and gossip. Nothing we say or do will change the outcome. Even if AOC wants to leave, NC looks like standing firm. Also, we were still winning games when Alex was injured...a wonderful player with potential but he's not as essential to us as Le Tiss in his pomp.
All Dad's are controlling. It's their job until their children break away. Remember, it was Mark being controlling that got AOC to Saints rather than Pompey.
Do you know I hate this word "controlling". All Dads will tell you.....Once you are a Dad you are always a Dad. It don't matter how old your Children are you never stop being a Dad!! You want the best for your children. When Mark was trying to advise his son which club to sign for It would have been the lads choice not his Dads. His Dad would have very well agreed or not agreed with him we will never know. Usually when they get to 16 or so the lad would have an Idea in what direction he wanted to go. Dads just help them and try and point them in the right direction and give advice. The lad would have gone where he wanted to go.......trust me........He has signed a three year contract last summer wasn't it. He would have been made well aware by NC and his Dad the consequences of signing that contract. Nc is not going to let him go lightly. Also isn't his Dad his official agent? The media try to undermine the FA all the time as under FA rules another club cannot make an approach for a player with out permission from the club that holds his contract. So what do they do they contact their favorite press man and he does the rest. I think NC Handled it well last time so I guess he will do the same, this. The lad will determine when and if he wants to move on and when. I think he will stay at least one more season......after that I don't know. Depends a lot on who he makes friends with on the international scene.
uh, did I miss some part of the interview, dad just said there would be rumours, & that we'lll just have to see what the summer brings. At what point did he say OXO is moving & to what club? Me thinks you might have to do your maths again, last time I looked 2+2 = 4 and not 22. I would suggest you listen to whole interview and not edit it as you go.....
He didn't just talk about AOC though. I found he answered the questions well and generalized them too by talking about coaching kids in general.
