    Well... I came across this...

In 2012 Matt Ritchie of Swindon Town was trying to receive the ball off the ballboy and kicked him while also getting the ball (thus exactly the same as Hazard). The player was BOOKED and there was NO FURTHER ACTION from the FA.

This shows complete double standards from the FA. So why does this get away with it and Hazard is looking at a 5 game ban!? It's exactly the same situation! Chelsea should show the FA this and tell them to stick their farking charge up their farking arse. Utter farce.

Thats an interesting one Bucks! The club would do well to appeal the outcome if they take extreme action against Hazard, based on a precedent!

And there is also this when an Oxford fan asks the FA why he got nothing and what they thought of the incident.

We have to use this against the FA. Use this and the FA haven't a leg to stand on. I know CFC fans are emailing the FA and newspapers to bring this knowledge to everyone.

This sounds as if we might have the FA scratching their heads on what to do! Lets hope this might prove to create a fair outcome for Eden!

The FA can't act when the ref hands out a booking or says he's seen the incident and handled it appropriately in their match report(like the Rooney elbow).

It's a stupid rule, in my opinion but you can't look at it and say the 2 punishments are hypocrisy from the FA, they go with the ref's decision and the ref's report, you'll be able to appeal which will bring the FA into it but they had nothing to do with the other incident that was all on the ref.

I think the most important thing in this hearing which Chelsea will be attending, is new film footage which clearly shows there was no actual contact between Hazards boot and the ball-boy, for all his theatrics! So says an article in todays Times

It's a joke... but can they really give a 5 game ban when this player got nothing!?

If Hazard gets a longer ban for the ballboy incident than Fellaini got for the headbutt on Shawcross then there is something completely wrong with football.

Yep... It would be a joke but I wouldn't put it past them at all! We'll make our voices heard at Brentford tomorrow for sure

That's not what it shows. It's totally the wrong angle to see if he catches the ballboy and the only reason you know he gets the ball is because it comes out the otherside when his foot goes towards the kid but I don't think anyone would disagree that he got the ball anyway.

If he got any more than the 3 he's expected to get, I'd agree, it would be mad. The only reason I think he should get 3 is that others get the same for "violent conduct" when all they've done is lean their head in. With regards to breaking the violent conduct rule there appears to be a minimum of 3 games and only when it's considered a very violent breaking of the law it can be added to but there's never less than 3 given. Personally I'd like to see blatant play acting punished and maybe only a 1 or 2 game ban for those that just have a bit of a mad moment and don't actually do any damage but I can understand why the FA don't want to get into that as it's very difficult to call consistently over a season let alone longer.
