Burstow did put the cross in that Bedia should have scored from. He’s got decent delivery for a striker and we might need to use him out there if we keep losing wingers at the current rate.
Hull City head coach Tim Walter told BBC Radio Humberside: “We lost again and that’s the problem at the moment. It’s all about development and improvement and I can see the signs but when something happened against us we couldn’t find the red line again. “That’s a problem, that we are not resilient enough and for a young squad that is important, and to get in the right moments. “All we can do is stick together, work and fight hard against these situations. It’s not easy for us but they are good boys and keep working. “We had a lot of chances and if we score goals everything is different. They created brilliant chances but in the end it’s about finishing.”
If I have to see our CBs running backwards and sideways desperately trying to pass it to each other while at the same time the whole midfield stands on the half way line and watches and I’m going to go mad.
He’s a better man than me. I would’ve told Mike White that they’re all useless ****s and flounced off.
I think these were the salient points from the post match..God forbid he's in the technical area for WBA and we get stuffed. The atmosphere will be toxic. I really do feel for the bloke, he's a decent guy, but what he's telling the players isn't working. If he's got a Plan B he'd better reveal his hand PDQ. Good luck with that. Now turning off for the US elections. Sweet dreams fellow sufferers.
I feel for Tim. He’ll go but Individual errors have cost us. For all this LR loving in recent weeks, he failed with a fantastic squad, and the same problems that plagued us all season were as evident as ever in our final game under him at Plymouth. Doesn’t look like Tim’s the man, but Liam wasn’t either with a better squad and more stable club. We were utterly dominant against Portsmouth and Oxford, and didn’t make the most of it. He’s not responsible for Simmons missing a sitter and then making a hash of a clearance within a minute of the second half against Portsmouth. He’s also not responsible for our inability to sign a natural left sided full back that’s not ****e and disinterested. Fans have made their mind up, but can’t help thinking he’s been dealt a bad hand, with a lot of fans and media ready to see him go as soon as he arrived. Key moments matter and under Tim, there’s been too many what if’s, wasted situations, poor finishing and individual errors. I think less of those have come because of the system than people think, especially in recent weeks. Regardless, he’s gone
mcann shouldnt have been sacked shota should have been sacked rosie shouldnt have been sacked walter shouldnt be sacked
A lot of it was late but we’ve brought in some good quality, just need someone who can get a system that suits the players we have rather than trying to get players to play a system they’re clearly not comfortable with. I have some sympathy for TW but you can’t keep doing the same thing over and over, not be prepared to change until it’s too late and expect things to get better. As soon as the opposition change their tactics against us, he doesn’t have an answer. Just keeps putting on like for like until he has to succumb to a gamble when it’s already too late. A lot of those players that are getting slagged off tonight have had very good individual performances over recent weeks but it’s just not working as a system. Yes, we should have signed a decent striker but how many chances are actually falling to them. Most of the chances are being missed by players coming onto the ball from the edge of the box and struggling to control the finish or it’s getting blocked/deflected away by a defender. We can argue the toss about who’s at fault but we’re not going to know unless we make a change and for me, I just can’t see this system working or TW changing it. As for avoiding the centre of midfield during build up, we might as well go long ball then and why did he agree to bringing so many midfielders? It’s a shame, we all hoped it might bring something fresh and exciting but for me, it’s a definite regression from last season. Yes, I know there were some boring home games against poor opposition who parked the bus but a lot of teams struggle with that and a lot of games were much better performance and results wise, compared to what we’ve seen for the majority of this season so far.
Before the season began Walter said he doesn’t have a plan B other than to do plan A better. The problem is that plan A doesn’t work. How anyone can compare this current garbage to last season is beyond me, Walter doesn’t have a clue and the travelling fans tonight made that very clear.
We scored first on Saturday, didn’t make a lot of difference. Once they came out second half with a different game plan we didn’t change anything to combat it.
Just got in from the match, watching across the team in the second half things just weren’t right. Misplaced passes, crosses sailing over the heads of strikers, tackles being jumped out of. I’m afraid to say I heard the persistent clank of downing tools from a few of our influential players.
Last 2 first halves have not really suggested that. But they can't cope with things going against them and they're not confident in what they're supposed to be doing. We often saw last year we kept going and nicked something. That was still evident in the first couple of games this year. But it's been coached out of them and we are going backwards.
Portsmouth all over again, we look decent, opposition scores, we fall apart. Can't blame it all on Walter, players must take some responsibility but either way the wheels look to be well and truly off. Crowd was vitriolic towards the end and at fulltime, all of it aimed at TW and very unpleasant. First half we looked ok, exceot for the bit about scoring goals. Belloumi was excellent down the right, nothing much going on down our left, Giles didn't impress. Second half was just a shambles, nobody should be judged on that although Burstow looked like he might have something about him Bit of a mess all round really!
