defensively we've a slightly better average goals conceded than last season - it's the attack that's not working - our crosses are poor and our main striker, which ever one plays is poor as well - and whilst some of the players aren''t good enough, some of it's not Tim's fault - BUT something needs to stop the rot and that usually means a change of manager, certainly before the January transfer window - bringing in a couple of ex players who have a close affinity to the club would be far better than bringing in someone who has to start from scratch
I maybe in the minority but there's some half decent players there in the squad, no world beaters but certainly enough to be performing better then this. They're being hamstrung by the tactics, and as a result are losing confidence in it game by game.seems like they don't trust the system he is trying to implement. I'll be amazed if Wally is still here come the weekend. Acun maybe headstrong but he certainly isn't daft, he knows the fans ain't happy and he craves praise, so to allow this sh1t show to continue isn't gonna happen.
I'd absolutely ****ing love it if someone in the middle of the pitch showed for the ball when the defence have it, so we're not completely one dimensional
To be fair we are being run on a wing and a prayer by a mad chancer, and the buck stops with him in the end. He can still salvage it by making the right appointment now though, if the right appointment wants to come, or if any are available
Tim talking like the Robert DeNiro character in the final scene of the movie 'Cape Fear'. Talking in rhymes and not making much sense. So sad. I feel for the bloke. I think he's finally realised the players can't do it.
I thought that in the first half, the cb’s had the ball and the midfielders weren’t even in the camera shot
Get Wagner or Schumacher in literally anyone, the squad gets a fresh start not playing some insane ****ing “VVVVVVVVWALTER BALL JA” had enough me driven me off caring
There's enough ability but they haven't got the character. If we'd have scored first there we'd have probably won 3/4 nil. Concede first then they fall apart and lose their heads. Bottless ****s.
Not really, if we had someone who put the ball in the back of the net with the numerous chances we created over the last 3/4 games we'd have won them and been in or within a point or so if the play offs
Well that's that. Should have been ahead at half time. In nearly all areas of the pitch we've been let down tonight. The finishing up top has been ****. Palmer, Omur and Belloumi should have scored in the first half, possibly Pedro too, and that excludes the one Belloumi hit the post with. The defense was generally OK, but a really stupid mistake costs us yet again. I honestly don't see how you can chalk this up to the manager. The players have let him down tonight. Pandur - can't really fault him. Coyle - can defend but I can't remember his last successful cross. His passing tonight was wayward and he's still too keen to play it backwards. Jones - can defend but too regularly plays a forward ball into no man's land or off the back of the pitch. Any build up we're attempting gets immediately cut short when he does this. Hughes - that was a **** performance to be honest. See 'Jones' comments but envision it being worse. Giles - two major errors, one of which cost us the game. Thought he had a decent enough first half and can contribute to the build up play but he has a knack of messing up some really basic stuff and it's too costly. Simons - anonymous - he contributed very little when on the ball. Liable to make mistakes and panic. Slater - panicked on the ball nearly every time he got it tonight. Loose touches, bad decisions. Just didn't seem with it to me. Palmer - made good passes but doesn't seem to work hard enough at times and can't seem to shoot in any game I've seen him in. Ömur - one of his better performances but still not exactly a stand out. Belloumi - obvious quality, but never seems to find one of our players when he's not having a go himself. Pedro - put himself about quite well I thought Jarvis - useless Drameh - fairly useless Puerta - fairly useless Bedia - good movement for his chance, but I think he should have done better with it. Doesn't strike me as having a striker's ability to finish anything other than gilt edge chances. Burstow - hard to judge. We've not deployed him much and when we have we've not deployed him as a striker.
Playing down the wings worked great in the first half when we beat their high press, but second half it wasn't working anywhere near as well, and we didn't adapt, same as Saturday. I don't know that this can be saved
we scored first on saturday and look what happened, players have to respond but then so do the management, all we do is change like for like and hope it works, which it hasn't. Managers are stubborn and believe in 'their style' or 'process', which when it doesn't work makes them look clueless.
