    Owen's tweeted this morning:

    michael owen ‏@themichaelowen

Up early, too excited to sleep. Final day of the transfer window and I'm likely to play a part in it!

    michael owen ‏@themichaelowen

I had two big European teams show an interest yesterday but my priority still remains to play in the Prem. We will see how the day pans out.

SSN reported that we're favourites for Charlie Adam at the moment. Strange on that.

#Stoke set to sign Charlie Adam after bid was accepted by Liverpool. Having talks this morning #scfc

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ng-Liverpools-Charlie-Adam-to-Stoke-City.html

Pulis tabled an offer for Adam on Wednesday and believes the Scotland international will add some much-needed creativity. He was waiting to discover if his bid has been accepted by Liverpool, with possible rival interest from Fenerbahce.

Stoke City scored only 36 Premier League goals last season and Pulis believes Adam, 26, can provide the spark required to bring out the best in club record-signing Peter Crouch.

A deal to sign Tom Huddlestone on loan appears to have collapsed after Spurs refused to agree a recall clause if the midfielder suffered a recurrence of an ankle injury.

Pulis is desperate to raise cash for other signings and Stoke are battling to sell £6 million signing Palacios before Friday’s deadline.

The Honduras international, 28, has made only nine Premier League starts since joining Stoke from Spurs in a joint deal with Crouch. Palacios will be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee.

Stoke forward Kenwyne Jones, signed for a then club record £8 million from Sunderland two years ago, can also go if the club receive a realistic offer, along with fringe players Danny Higginbotham and Michael Tonge.

Pulis remains interested in signing Michael Owen, the former Manchester United forward, on a free transfer but must first make room on the wage bill.

Im probably the only one on the Stoke board who hopes Owen comes, however I dont think we will be able to meet his demands.

Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has arrived at Stoke City for a medical as they look to tie up a deal before the close of the transfer window.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is willing to let Adam move on having brought in Joe Allen and Nuri Sahin this summer to bolster his midfield options.

The 26-year-old only joined Liverpool last summer from Blackpool, but it is clear he does not figure in Rodgers' long-term plans at Anfield.

The likes of Everton and Fulham have been linked with Adam, but it appears Stoke are in pole position to land the former Rangers man.

Stoke are keen to add to their squad before Friday's deadline and they made a £4million bid for the Scotland international earlier this week.

Adam has now arrived at Stoke's training ground to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms ahead of his switch to the Britannia Stadium.

  6. Ric,

I just think that Owen knows where the net is. Something some others currently playing just don't. But of course Adam, Cameron, Kightly, Pennant and co must supply

His wages are the ridiculous thing for me as are the likes of most self centred footballers!

I would be happy to both Adam and Owen if We move on KJ, WP to mention just two!

I admire your faith Tent, but he can score form the bench (whilst watching Walters run round aimlessly) or from the medical romm recovering from injury! Not for me, wages that could be invested far better.

According to a Phil McNulty tweet (BBC website) Owen to Stoke still remains a possibility! ...... I personally don't like the man, overrated and only interested in money, but if we get him, he plays regularly and, most importantly, SCORES GOALS, then it may pay off.

Glad we have Adam, hopefully will create more bustle in the midfield, don't really think owen can do much for us, too injury prone.

    Charlie Adam,
Great signing IMO.. and it's comfirmed.
Owen? Yes simply because he has a canny knack in and around the six yd box... Crouch knocks down the headers.. <ok> ONE problem his wages?

Really pleased Adam has signed now!
Marice Edu already at the Traning Ground too!

Now I go hide in the cupboard under the stairs..

    Evening lads, Liverpool fan here.

You've got a decent player in Charlie Adam. With the way Rodgers wants us to play, Adam wouldn't have had a significant role and probably a good move for him where he'll get regular game time.

£4M, which is the rumoured fee, is good business for you (Get a decent player) and for Liverpool (We get a fee for a player that wasn't in Rodgers plans and allows us to re-invest in other players)

One more thing... Isn't the best defensively. That isn't one of his strong points so you need someone alongside him in the middle of the park to do the defensive work.

Anyway, good luck for this season! (Not against Liverpool though! :p)

Apparently an Owen announcement is imminent, don't let me down Stoke! (cue SSN filming him getting out of a helicopter in Glasgow)

I thought Owen was a free agent now, so doesn't need to complete a move today, maybe it is Owen trying to cut himself a better deal somewhere by creating interest.

My friend is down at Clayton Wood tonight with his son, and he has texted me to say that Owen is there and the rumour is that a signing is imminent. Pulis and Coates are there too, but no sign of any other players.
