    Ryan Taylors 28th birthday today.

    Midfielder/defender who arrived at SJP from Wigan in February 2009 as part of the deal that took Charles N'Zogbia to the JJB.

    Beginning his career at Tranmere Rovers as a teenager, Taylor made his debut in 2002 and scored in a 2-1 victory at Hartlepool.

    Signed by Wigan at a cost of £1.25m ahead of the 2005/06 season, he appeared as a substitute against Newcastle on their first visit to the JJB in October of that year.

    England U21 recognition followed that same month, with Ryan lining up for his debut in the same XI as Magpies namesake Steven.

    Didn't know that bit about him making his under 21 debut in the same XI as Stevie.

    Ryan Anthony David Taylor (born 19 August 1984) is an English footballer from Liverpool who plays for Newcastle United of the Premier League. He is a versatile player who can operate at right back, right midfield or left back. He is known to be a dead ball specialist, often scoring from free kicks.
