Maybe, but why then is Charlie Lee in the team profiles and Jack Payne not??!! Has a deal already be done or is he so badly injured, that he's going to miss the whole season... ...Or is the OS just that bad
I'm hoping that your suspicions are wrong - but I find it difficult to believe that Payne has any 'illness' - when he goes it might make a change that we actually get to keep some of the money- instaed of it going to lawyers and ex staff ( can't bring myself to classify McCammon as a footballer ) edit ( before actually editting ) - I nearly forgot - I think that you'll find that Jack Payne has been gift wrapped, ready for posting to the headquarters of the FA - To pay for the imminent fines.
Jack Payne has tonsilitis! Thats enough to lay anyone low for a few weeks! I think its just an oversight from a not very good website!

Ok, from memory unless something is going on... I thought Jack Payne had the number 8 shirt last season. In the friendly against Charlton he wore number 4 and Charlie Lee wore number 8, so I realised the swap in that game. Looking at that O/S link, they have simply done nothing more than omitted the number 4 shirt. Or...
I am sure Payne was number 8 and Lee was number 4 so that is different. Good to see Essam get the number 5 shirt but I have a feeling Payne is going and they have made a massive mistake. If he is staying strange they swapped numbers.
As I said I thought it was strange against Charlton. I just failed to mention it previously because I did not know what the significance to it was. So I have just been and checked my match day programme from the Addicks game and Jack is down as number 4.
In pre season it don't matter they normally just give the players starting the game the first 11 numbers however I did not think we would swap them around and it seems strange if he was missed off it could have been anyone and we may have thought it may be a mistake but with Payne being linked with a move away that is even more strange. Also who writes these details on the website (Why would they give us a clue like that before a proper Press release has been set)? I really hope it is a mistake but I highly doubt it is now.

I just see some where that there is going to be breaking news at 2, I have a feeling what this is going to be and I think everyone else does however hopefully it is a signing.
I was going out now I need to wait and see what it is, if Payne has gone our midfield is very short in numbers really I think we would need to sign 2 more midfielders then.
