So Marc Overmars, having initially wanted the Newcastle DOF role and asked for it, then turned it down once Ajax offered him a new contract has now quit Ajax after sending inappropriate texts to female colleagues <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Ha ha, yeah just reading that. Won't take him long to walk into another job. If Keys and Gray can manage it so can he I guess !

    Slaaaaaaaaag.

Oh well plenty of skanks around the big market for him, so no doubt he'll jump at the chance to come here.

Yeah, and where did Keys and Gray end up working.....

Just saying different regions have different views on this kind of thing. He should be considered, at least. Done a lot more than Dan Ashworth has.

I think you may be misreading the room about the current climate on such things <laugh>

I don't know what to make of this. Clearly if he has been harassing women in the work place via messages its not good. Lets not everybody go jumping off the deep end though. This shouldn't stop him getting another job in football and being able to work. If we aren't even going to bother letting folk recover from errors of judgement and rehabilitate, what is the world? He has been contrite and admitted his error. He has apologised. He's lost the job he loved and I think that is punishment fitting to the error.

I'd definitely consider him. With Staveley involved in the running of the club however, she may feel uncomfortable (as may the other directors) about inviting bad press about this subject matter in the current climate. It would be a shame but the cancel culture may preclude his involvement with football clubs for a while.

We are the club who took Lee Bowyer and Jonathan Woodgate after what they did, took Joey Barton after he'd assaulted another player and stood by him after he attacked someone in the street, stood by Andy Carroll after he broke another players jaw, and brought in Joe ****ing Kinnear as manager.

Some sleazy texts from Overmars seems positively vanilla compared to that lot.
