An Article From The Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/feb/08/bristol-city-bristol-rovers-overdue-success Didn't cut and paste as there's comments at the bottom.
One of the comments um what catchment area and potential? "Always wondered why Bristol City have never got their act together, especially with their catchment area and potential, Wigan don't even sell out against the big North West clubs."
Good find 79. A very interesting article, but not a lot said that we didn't already know. I would also have preferred to have seen that the article balanced the sources by talking to BOTH managers and BOTH chairmen. What is also interesting is that Bristol is quoted as the eighth largest city. Take into account that the densely populated eastern suburbs of the area have refused to be incorporated into the official city boundary and the population numbers would place Bristol much higher up the table. That resistance to inclusion in the city's boundaries is not at all surprising considering the way most people feel about Bristol City Council's performance. The BCC's incompetance and pathetic obstruction to the repeated attempts to improve the sporting facilities, particularly by Rovers over the years, has put the development of sport in the area, several years behind where it should be!!!
