the board has backed you implicitly. up to you now to repay their faith by getting these players to perform together to a standard we all expect. this will be your greatest triumph as a manager.. or your biggest disaster.
As long as we stay up comfortably. Anything else is a bonus. Some Prem clubs must be very disappointed in their lack of involvement.
Both. Excited by the squad but have a nagging concern about balance of the side and whether they will gel.
Hes got not excuses now, he should resign rather than get sacked if he doesnt perform. He can have no excuses.
The importance still lies in the fact that we must not go down this season. That is all that matters. The rest can wait until later.
don't fancy our chances against city but chelsea in 2 weeks will be interesting. all the new signings will have trained together and we'll see how they do as a team.
We have obvious got some hard fixtures coming, if just we remain paitient I very sure we will have really good second half to the season. gonna be a while before we gel
Whilst we're all obviously on a high right now, I seriously hope this board doesn't descend into doom and gloom if we get soundly beaten tomorrow; everyone needs to keep in mind this team will take time before we see its full potential. Nines and QPRICH have got it about right for me. If I see anyone calling for Hughes' head over the next few weeks I'll be absolutely raging...!
Without the three new signings, I had little confidence we could turn it around, no matter how much 'gelling' we did. Now it's very different. We have a spine plus Ali to come back. Surely it's only a matter of time before we click. It's a question of 'when' not 'if'.
Absolutely correct. Fernandes has proved beyond any shadow of doubt he is here for the long haul. He is not short termist and neither must we be. I've always thought we would end up 13/14 this season but even if we end up 17th again, that is fine. I don't think that will happen. We may need to wait til January to see if the defence needs shoring up. Can't believe I've booked week holiday in September and missing Chelsea game but good news for one of my lads!
In a way I think th hard games coming up have come at a perfect time. The players like rob green, taraabt, swp etc are actually going to have to fight for a place now and that should get the best out of them.
Time time and more time. Last season it was a number of games before Hughes had us playing as a coherent unit but he achieved his objective. We stayed up. This season some have got seriously carried away as our objective once again is to stay up and maybe a cup run. Please all save your vitriol if we get battered today we will be taking enough stick from the press and opposing fans. Lets get behind our team and once again enjoy supporting this great team of ours. Come on you r'ssssss
We will get soundly beaten, only Granero can play tomorrow. It would take losing the next 5 game for me to think about wanting him gone.
I was thinking that, in a way, Mark Hughes is also part of the team, like a 12th man. Because he too needs to learn about and get accustomed to the new players, just like the players need to do with each other. Furthermore, those players need to get used to Mark Hughes and his tactics, which also must be changing again now that he has a new team; he'll probably be approaching things very differently now.
Whilst I've made no secret of the fact that I remain unconvinced about Hughes's tactical ability, I think we need a long period of stability now. Mh needs to be given plenty of time to get these players playing and hopefully have a settled side for next season which could be a hum-dinger!! However, As I've said before, if we're in the relegation places or thereabouts at Xmas, I can see the board getting rid as we can't afford to go down!!
