There´s no doubting that, I must say,
The fourteen day break
Did not much to shake
Those defensive lapses away
But that said, we were second best
In this, our first real home test,
Out-thought and outgunned
And occasionally stunned
And more than ruffled in our nest
But then, as we´ve all said before
It´s not up there in the top four,
Where we would expect
To end, so nowt´s wrecked
With this defeat, although we were poor
Perhaps, the breakfast time start
Was somehow to blame, in part,
But credit the goons
Who although it was noon
Showed how football can be an art
And really a 1-2 scoreline
We can count as being extremely kind,
For had they been hot
On two or three shots
We´d have had a mountain to climb
But all of us knew anyway
That we would get these point-less days,
But how we bounce back
And take the attack
