Which opposition do you think is the most dangerous? For me it has to be Leeds especially now that Colin is in charge. We usually take 6 points from Leeds as a matter of fact for some reason, but this year we only came away from Elland Road in October with a single point. Leeds at that time were still under the guidance of the now departed Grayson. Old Colin loves games like the one against us and always manages to leave Cardiff with a smile on his face. Currently chasing their 500th away win in league football and having gone so long since beating us what are the odds on old Colin spoiling the party?
Totally agree bob. I was saying on another thread that Leeds would be dangerous. They certainly have plenty of incentive to urinate on our parade and certainly have the firepower too. I thought we were lucky to get the point at Elland Road earlier in the season, and as you say say, with NW now at the helm, they could well turn us over. So I guess it's Leeds for me too, though the way we have been playing, draws in all three is not beyond the realms of possibility.
Which opposition do you think is the most dangerous? Crystal Palace, mostly because it will be last day nerves for Cardiff. The really bad news is they are so inconsistent, absolutely anything could happen in that game. At least Derby & Leeds are consistently average to poor this season.
Please no more draws. Can't cope with the tension anymore Cling,I need something more decisive. Others around us are showing their intent by blitzing opposition. Funny thing is,we are one game away from matching our epic unbeaten run earlier in the League campaign. Granted there were more W's than D's as results.
All three sides with nothing really to play for except pride - the difference between them is that Colin manages Leeds. He's gone on record that his squad is just not good enough and he doesn't like quitters. He'll take no prisoners on that score for next season's squad. We've already beaten the other two, but as clingo said, we were very lucky to get a point at Elland Road. A win tonight would ease the pressure slightly for next Saturday, but that game must rate the most likely to derail us. We can't rely on the others slipping up - 6 points from these two may well get us over the line. I've said this before on here, these two CCS games are mega - we don't want to go to Selhurst on the last day having to win it for a playoff spot.
Thai! I may be wrong but what is left for them to play for now they are safe? Rotation of squad opportunity for them to test out more youngsters surely? Mind that Scannell is a bloody pest whenever we play them.
I really hope we can win our last two home games, i can't cope with another last day decider match My heart says we will win them both and it will all be sorted by the time we play palace, my head says draws or maybe even a loss if we play the way we have in our last couple of home games. I hate this time of the season
sparkey. NW is already playing mind games with Rosco by telling him that he's not got any given right to expect to start games next season. What a strange thing to say to a player before he plays against his old club. But first Derby, and tbh, I don't really know what to expect from them....which is more than they could say about us!
I think we will get 4 points from our last 3 games, though im happy to be proved wrong. a lot depends on Boro, if donny can do us a favour tonight, whether we win/lose/draw they then have to play Southampton who have everything to play for. Please please please lets secure it before Palace, the Shef Wed game still haunts me!
Not nervous about the end of this season at all. At best we finish 6th - we dont deserve to be promoted. West Ham or Southampton do. We can just hope we do what other teams do and upset the odds in the play offs. We will go into them with nothing to lose. If we finish outside the play offs we have extra time to bring in the players we need for a real challenge next season. We will be in a miles better position than when Jones left last season. The foundation of a really good side. Next season im convinced will be our year. I think 2 wins will get us in the top 6. Ive a feeling we wont get that and Palace will get their revenge in the last game of the season.
I really do not think for 1 minute it matters if they have anything to play for or not. Technically we had nothing to play for at Spurs as we were fairly certain of avoiding relegation but we took the game to them and beat them on their own pitch. We will have nothing to play for in any of our remaining games as we are not going to be relegated (is as good as mathematically impossible to do so now) but I know they will not stop trying to beat Blackburn, Liverpool, Arsenal or Villa. It's the games you take for granted that tend to bite you so please do not fall in to that trap lads
At best we can finish 4th Hilts not 6th. Dunno if that's any better mind - once you're in the mix, playing your home leg semi last doesn't mean a lot. In my opinion, the top 3 should go up. You're correct, WHU have earned the right far more than we have, but that's not the way it works. Having another 3 weeks in the summer to plan for next year is irrelevant. If we went up through the playoffs, those three weeks in May it takes to decide them are a waste of time in the transfer market anyway. Very little happens until after the end of June at the earliest. Staying down and being in a better position next season is a matter of opinion. You're probably right, but there's no guarantee that we'd even make the top 6 next year. We're here now this season and should go all out for it.
Two league games left, it would be nice to get the play-off place against Leeds then a few of the regulars can have a rest against Palace. Well done to Malky and the boys whatever happens now, we have over achieved.
I have only just discovered you played and won last night At least now you can afford to draw the two remaining games with such a vastly superior goal difference <lok>
true, but would much rather do it with a win on Sat v Leeds (easier said than done admittedly)... plus it would be a fitting way to say farewell to the great Eddie May
