Anybody got any idea as to which Saints player are out of contract with summer? Reckon anyone of them will be renewed for the Prem next season?
Yeah.. I feel sorry for holmes.. But hopefully he can ressurect his career elsewhere.. Hopefully with Swindon town.. they'll be a surprise package for league 1.. pushing for the title i reckon!
He's easily gonna be championship when he's fully fit and sharp.. and next season.., Holmes wil be excellent
Jaidi, Connolly, Holmes, Bialkowski, Doble, Dean & Aaron Racine Harlee Dean and Lee Holmes have already confirmed to be moving on elsewhere whilst Jaidi has also all but confirmed his retirement, but can't see any of them being kept on myself
What about the idiot Forecast? I noticed he was at the front again celebrating for the second year running. He hasn't played a game for us yet!!
and there lies the problem ........ "if" Unfortunately, he won't stay injury free. Hasn't for the last 6 years. Shame.
Isn't Puncheon's contract up this year? Mind you we have been crying out for someone that can play right midfield this year so am a bit surprised he wasn't used more than he was. Connolly, Jaidi, Holmes.....will definitely be gone. I would be surprised if Puncheon is still here too...I think he will be released...In truth though I think I said that last year too!! Bialkowski I am not sure of.....He will not be sold or released just because of his mistake on his one league appearance. However I have a feeling they just might bring in someone with Premier experience and Davis will be the back up.
I can see no reason why they'd bring in another goalkeeper ahead of Davies. He has been outstanding. Plus goalkeeper is pretty much the one position that doesn't really change whatever division you are playing in, albeit he'd be up against better strikers. Of course, they always surprise us. Who was thinking we needed a new left back and suddenly Fox appeared.
Another one I have just thought of....is Ryan Dickson.....have not heard a dicky bird about him....but his contract must be up soon surely? Also will we be entering a team in to the reserves league this year?
We need a class keeper to be back up to Davies and ultimately take over. Very hard on Bart, because he has played well for us in the past, but messed up his big chance. Doesn't mean he is a bad keeper, but nerves got to him. He probably needed to be first choice keeper for another team...a few great performances would have done more for his career than being understudy here. Don't know how Forecast got such a long contract, but not being good enough for us doesn't make him an idiot. He's probably been involved in training so has played a small part...he's allowed to be happy for us. He's bound to sit out his last year on a decent wage as he seems to be too poor to find another team or perhaps he'll be paid off to get him off our books. Connolly might have been kept on if we'd stayed in the Championship, but sadly is too injury prone. Holmes will probably stay at Swindon and I think he will do well.
Going to need to clear out anyone who was not regularly at least on subs bench to make way for better players to come in. Loaning out youngsters to div 1 sides who are desperate for players should not be a problem (any clubs spring to mind)?
Get a couple of most promising youngsters on our 7 man bench to give them experience of big match day. All part of their progression. Get them drooling to come on and get them on for a few minutes when we are five up
Of the 20 current Premier League teams, 16 are in the league, Man City, Spurs, Stoke and QPR are not. Toss up whether we do or not, my guess is that we will stick to the current system of playing development squad friendlies.
I don't know who made the decision (NA or NC?), but being in the reserve league was considered a distraction and the logistics of it took up too much time for any benefits gained. Not having a reserve team hasn't done us any harm has it?
