There seems to be a great deal of variation on who is and who isn't so, here is the definitive list:- Tom Heaton (has a 1 year option, not sure how and who triggers it) Dean Gerken Lewin Nyatanga Louis Carey (Snr) Matthew Bates Mark Wilson (gone already..?) Cole Skuse Marv Brian Howard Jon Stead Chances are that Albert will also go in the summer but of the others likely to attract interest in the summer, I would very much hope that Sam Baldock, Steve Davies and Greg Cunningham would at least give it until January to see if we can bounce straight back. If not and these 3 go as well, this gives us a first team squad (including Bryan, Burns and Reid) of 13...
Senior players still under contract for next season include Marvin Elliott, Liam Fontaine, Neil Kilkenny, James Wilson, Stephen Pearson, Richard Foster, Brendan Moloney and Liam Kelly. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Rele...tory-18664825-detail/story.html#axzz2Q31gqPvP Bit more reliable than a transfer market website
The list above ought to be the nucleus of a side capable of going close to winning L1 next season, especially with a few key additions. problem then comes the season after if we make it, as we know these are not good enough at this level, so where do we go with FFP rules etc. This really is about the worst season to get relegated from the CCC with these new rules coming in.
So (assuming we sell Albert) that would leave us with: GK - None Defenders - Maloney, Cunningham, Bryan, Fontaine, Wilson (J), Foster Midfield - Elliott, Killkenny, Pearson, Reid, Kelly, Anderson Strikers - Davies, Baldock, Burns
Keep the strikers I hope. Reid Kelly anderson in MF defenders Maloney Bryan and Cunningham.. The rest can do one...
I reckon we've no chance of keeping Cunningham, Adomah or Baldock. Skuse, Davies and Elliot will probably get offers as well. Leaves us with only Maloney (possibly Bryan) who's decent at the back. Kilkenny,Reid,Kelly,Anderson so very lightweight in midfield. Taylor,Burns and possibly Stead up front. Hope the summer proves me wrong.
The Evil Post, that usually manages to get it wrong more times than not, reliable...? You must be ****ing joking (aimed at them, not you Shiny). I think I know which one I believe however, just to verify (which is bloody hard, try it) Marv signed a new 3 year deal in 2009 so that expired last year. I can't find anything on our website about what happened last year so after a LOT of searching, here is another independent site which says the same (scroll down) and, they are normally pretty accurate. http://sofifa.com/en/fifa13/team/1919-bristol-city-fc As the club reads these boards, perhaps they could clarify...
