recently, we've been telling the press which players we're interested in signing, we never use to do that, the last time we did it was when we signed Berbatov in 2008, David Gill said today that we're interested in signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace and he's not the only player we're looking at, i think a deal is being close to be completed in my opinion, otherwise he would'nt say a word.
He said we were looking at next season. It's hardly been a secret. In regards to looking at other players, United are always looking at other players and for the chance to improve our squad - if it's the right player at the right price.
i think its a case of stopping the relentless questions to the manager, etc. its disruptive having rumors flying about, so might as well confirm a vague interest to quell those endless questions, and keep tight lipped on the transfers that haven't been picked up on or have minimal coverage
The Zaha thing is simply because Crystal Palace have confirmed they are negotiating with both us and Arsenal. No point trying to deny it when everyone knows it. And like Optimistic says - play up the Zaha transfer and keep attention off the others.
