At 1-1 yesterday and us knocking on the door searching for the winner, you could tell we needed a another option. We only used 2 subs and that was a straight swap Lockyer for Clarke at CM and Harrison straight swap for injured Santos at LW.

We had Clarkson and Brunt on the bench who could have made the difference. Why were they not used?

Where was Henshall? He didnt even get on the bench yesterday! No comment about an injury. No comment about being away on international duty. He was available for the York FA Cup game but didnt make the bench then either. Where is he? He started against Accrington and scored and not played a single minute since. This is a waste of money if not going to use him and that money could be used on a player that we do need. We do need a winger! Santos is now injured, Harrison hasnt hardly played recently and him and Richards must be confused where they are playing as 1 minute they are a winger and the next minute they are a striker! Lockyer, Norburn and Clucas have been used as a winger playing out of position. We have Henshall, he has pace, use the guy! Otehrwise get rid and get someone else in.

Found some info on Henshall http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristo...ains-decison/story-20090334-detail/story.html

Bristol Rovers boss John Ward has explained the reasons behind his decision not to extend the recent loan spell of Manchester City winger Alex Henshall.

Henshall made one full appearance since arriving on loan on October 17 and Ward confirmed:
“We have let him go back to Manchester City because we wanted to give him a chance to see if he can get a move elsewhere in the last ten days before the loan window shuts. He had a first-team game at Accrington and it wasn’t a good game for any of us. I’ve also watched Alex in training day-in-and-day-out and I watched him in a reserve team game at Yate on Tuesday night and I have simply decided that he is not going to force his way into my team at this moment in time.”

Ward, however, say he may well have to look to the loan market for further cover in wide areas after Alefe Santos limped out of this afternoon’s 1-1 draw against Bury with a hamstring problem. Ward said:
“I’ll have to look at it. We need to have a look at Alefe over the next 24 to 48 hours to assess how serious or otherwise his problem is. If that is a lengthy period out then that does cut down my wide positions, but we’ll know more in the next couple of days.”

So Ward got rid of Henshall 10 days early! Ward didnt deem him good enough. Turns out to be a poor signing. Those on the OS forum who went to the Accrington game said he was the better player that day for us and he scored as well! Strange that this info didnt come out on the OS that he had left us! Its good that we are actively looking for a new winger though.

Agreed about Brunt and Clarkson, 1 of them should have come on instead of Harrison. A 2 year old could play better than him at the moment.

I think this winger stuff emphasises how much we miss Broghammer.
