Just for fun, reacquainted myself with our full squad today.
Seems we have about 7 or 8 players who we fans don't rate/like.
In no order, Turnbull, Kalou, Mikel, Anelka, Boswinga ,Malouda, Ferreira, Hilario. Then you can add as bit players, Torres and Drogba. I'm sure there are others , but these seem the most vilified.
    Here's my thoughts.
Turnbull, hardly gets a go. Has his faults but by no means terrible.
Kalou. Everyones whipping boy, but actually is playing in front of a mediocre and past -it's- useby- date midfield. They can't get good ball to Torres, so what chance Kalou?? Shows what happens when you are out of confidence .
Mikel Ditto, except he's playing behind the same midfield and trying to protect a badly misfiring defence as well. Plays an attacking role for his national team, never gets that chance with us.
Anelka. Total class, but age means he's a once a week player. Plenty to offer in a well chosen starting 11.
Boswinga Just can't decide about this bloke.
Malouda Nowhere as bad as portrayed. Another confidence player but again age means he less and less wins games. Still a very good player.
Ferreira Hardly plays, rarely lets us down.
Hilario Can be great, rarely awful despite criticism
Torres Needs someone to decide if we play in a style that suits him or not. Would shine with a fully firing midfield in my opinion.
Drogba. Looks to me as if he's decided to take the big bucks supposedly offered ,and jet off to Russia/ Turkey or wherever come January. Can't say I blame him , he's done it all here.
And finally, Lampard. Not as good as he once was, but as good once as he ever was.
Definitely not an "every game " man anymore. But freshen him up by resting him every few games ,and you will see he still has plenty of grunt.
    Love to know others opinions.

In my opinion none of them are really **** apart from Kalou and Bosingwa, but apart from Torres and Lampard i just don't think any of them should be playing for us, i mean look at madrids squad then look at our squad at the moment, were hardly going to win the champions league with the likes of Turnbull,Kalou,Mikel,Bosingwa,Malouda and Anelka in our squad are we, there not good enough for our club, if we want to win trophies we need better players, younger players, faster players, more skillful players etc etc. We need soon to be world class players or world class players not bit-part players, say were 2-0 down to real madrid at half-time, who's going to come on and change that game? Kalou? lol

Anelka, Bosingwa,Mikel and Malouda were all heroes before AVB introduced a change in playing style! Turnbull and Hilario only ever sit on the bench, and Paolo Ferrera has never let us down on the rare occasions he has been asked to sub.Kalou I cant figure out! This is what having a squad is all about! They will at some unknown point have a chance to earn their wages!

Good call Bluemoon. Maybe when we settle on a style of play, they will adapt and return to their best form. Can't be easy playing the "Drogba" style one day , then trying to play like Barcalona the next !! Poor old Kalou has certainly popped up with winners when you least expect it. As you rightly say, that's what a squad is all about.

I still quite like Anelka and Ferreira to be honest, age has caught up with Paulo and is nowhere near what he was but he still puts a shift in when given the chance. Anelka is the same really minus the effort but he still has some class.
